About Your Guide

Born and raised in South Florida, I've been a proud resident of the Florida Keys since 1994. My guiding journey began in 1996 when I was just 21 years old, and for nearly 30 years, I have been passionately leading anglers around Islamorada. Every day on the water continues to be a joy for me. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association, dedicating my efforts to support our vibrant fishing community.

My fishing roots go deep, starting at age six in 1980, fishing alongside my father, a dedicated shallow water fisherman who generously shared his expertise with me. It’s been a true privilege to spend my life exploring and enjoying these waters. I specialize in sight fishing for snook and redfish, primarily using fly and light spin tackle in shallow areas. Additionally, I enjoy pursuing species like tarpon, permit, bonefish, sharks, trout, triple tail, and snapper. The abundance and diversity of fish in this region make every trip exciting and rewarding.

Whether you're a beginner or an expert angler, everyone is welcome aboard, including women and children, as I strive to create an inclusive and enjoyable fishing experience. Beyond fishing, I have a passion for wildlife and nature photography, with winter months dedicated to capturing wading and shorebirds—my favorite being the stunning Roseate spoonbill. During this season, the flats and backcountry become alive with birdlife, offering spectacular photographic opportunities.

My primary focus is to provide a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere on the water, ensuring each outing is both comfortable and memorable. I tailor trips to your preferred starting location and aim to make every trip enjoyable for all.

Clients have shared wonderful feedback, highlighting not just great fishing but also the engaging conversations and knowledge shared throughout the day. Many appreciate the positive, patient approach, especially when fishing with family and children. Even in challenging conditions, the goal remains to put you on the fish while enjoying the breathtaking surroundings, including encounters with manatees, dolphins, flamingos, and a variety of other wildlife.

My boat offers a smooth, dry ride no matter the weather, enhancing your comfort and fishing experience. From fly fishing enthusiasts seeking to refine their casting skills to those after an action-packed day on the water, I’m equipped to guide anglers of all levels. Teaching and sharing the natural beauty and ecology of the Keys is part of the adventure, and I am always eager to explain the local fisheries, environmental concerns, and conservation efforts.

Whether it's your first time or you’re returning for another memorable trip, I look forward to welcoming you aboard for an unforgettable Florida Keys fishing experience filled with education, excitement, and the natural wonders of this unique paradise.
