About Your Guide

Born and raised in South Florida, I have lived in the Florida Keys since 1994. My guiding journey began in 1996 when I was 21 years old. For nearly 30 years, I’ve been leading fishing adventures around Islamorada, and my passion for being on the water remains as strong as ever. I proudly serve on the Board of Directors of the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association. My fishing roots go deep—I started exploring these waters at age six alongside my father, who was a passionate shallow water fisherman and generously shared his expertise with me. It’s truly a privilege to spend my life doing what I love among the waves.

My guiding style focuses on sight fishing for snook and redfish, primarily using fly and light spinning tackle in shallow waters. I also target tarpon, permit, bonefish, sharks, trout, tripletail, and snapper. The diverse species in the area make every trip exciting and unique. Everyone is welcome—whether you’re a beginner, seasoned angler, woman, or child, I look forward to sharing a memorable day on the water with you.

Outside of fishing, I’m an avid wildlife and nature photographer, often spending winter months capturing stunning images of wading and shore birds. The Roseate spoonbill is a particular favorite, and the flats and backcountry teem with birdlife during those months.

My goal is to provide a relaxed, enjoyable, and unforgettable fishing experience. Come join me for a day on the water—we'll make great memories together!

Clients consistently appreciate the experience, sharing that their trips were both rewarding and informative. Many mention that I work hard to find fish even in challenging conditions and value my approachable nature, especially when fishing with children. My boat offers a smooth and dry ride no matter the weather, enhancing the overall adventure. Fishing with me means more than just catching fish—it’s about embracing the full marine ecosystem, including sightings of manatees, dolphins, flamingos, and more.

Those new to fly fishing often find my patient and encouraging guidance invaluable, and even expert anglers enjoy the opportunity to refine their skills while enjoying the natural beauty that surrounds us. The friendly atmosphere and wealth of knowledge about the local fisheries and environmental issues provide a rich context for every trip.

Whether it's spotting dolphins and sharks or learning about snook and redfish behaviors, guests leave with not only great catches but also fond memories of their time on the water. Many look forward to returning for another adventure, eager to explore more of the Keys' incredible fishing opportunities.

This is a full-day fishing trip, with a minimum duration of 8 hours. I often extend the time slightly, so please inform me if you have dinner arrangements or need to catch a flight. Spending the entire day on the water offers the best chances to fish, considering tide changes and travel distances. Our focus is on targeting snook, redfish, and tarpon in the backcountry areas of Everglades National Park, using light tackle spin and fly fishing techniques. The start and end times are flexible to accommodate your schedule. Fishing during the later part of the day can be especially rewarding, with excellent catches and stunning sunset views.
