About Your Guide

Discover the waters of Islamorada and the Florida Keys with Captain Ben, targeting popular species such as Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook, Permit, and Redfish in the shallow flats. For a varied fishing adventure, consider booking a full-day trip that ventures offshore in search of Sailfish, Snapper, and Grouper. Islamorada provides an exceptional fishing experience, where catching a Sailfish in the open ocean and pursuing Bonefish, Tarpon, Permit, Redfish, and Snook closer to shore is an exciting yet achievable challenge.

Explore nearby Key Largo’s lush tropical hardwood forests, winding creeks teeming with gamefish, sections of Everglades National Park, and protected areas within a national marine sanctuary renowned for its stunning botanical landscapes. Captain Ben is passionate about guiding both fly fishing enthusiasts and those using traditional tackle, welcoming anglers of all experience levels to share the magic of fishing in the Florida Keys.

Trips are conducted aboard Captain Ben’s 18-foot Action Craft skiff, powered by a 115HP Suzuki motor capable of speeds up to 40 knots. He supplies all necessary fishing gear, including premium Redbone, Shimano, and Penn rods and reels. Upon request, fly fishing and snorkeling equipment can also be provided. Live bait is included and will be caught either prior to or early in the trip, depending on availability. The boat is stocked with ice, bottled water, and offers ample storage space for any food or beverages you bring along.

Simply select your preferred date, number of participants, trip length, and start time to reserve your spot for an unforgettable fishing adventure with Captain Ben and Captain Experiences. Flexible start locations can typically be arranged based on your needs.

Many clients have praised Captain Ben’s expertise and friendly demeanor. Anglers often describe him as professional, personable, and dedicated to helping you land your targeted species. One enthusiastic guest highlighted an expedition during a cold front when despite challenging conditions, they caught tarpon, jacks, red snapper, and mangrove snapper, attributing their success to Captain Ben’s knowledge and leadership.

Another family expressed how fishing alongside Captain Ben felt like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend, creating lifelong memories through non-stop action and multiple species catches. Testimonials often note his adaptability to changing weather and ability to locate prime fishing spots, ensuring an enjoyable and fruitful excursion.
