About Your Guide

Born and raised in South Florida, I have called the Florida Keys my home since 1994. My journey as a fishing guide began at the young age of 21 in 1996, and for nearly 30 years, I have been exploring and sharing the waters of Islamorada. Each day on the water continues to be a rewarding and joyous experience. Currently, I have the honor of serving on the Board of Directors for the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association.

My passion for fishing was sparked early, starting at age six alongside my father, a dedicated shallow water angler who generously passed down his knowledge. Spending a lifetime on the water has truly been a gift. My guiding style focuses primarily on sight fishing for snook and redfish, using fly and light spin tackle in shallow waters. In addition, I enjoy targeting a variety of species including tarpon, permit, bonefish, sharks, trout, triple tail, and snapper. One of the best parts of this region is the diversity of species available for anglers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. I especially welcome women and children to join in the adventure.

Outside of guiding, I have a deep appreciation for wildlife and nature photography, often dedicating my winter months to capturing images of wading and shorebirds. Among these, the Roseate spoonbill is a favorite subject. The flats and backcountry come alive with a rich variety of birds during this season.

My primary focus is ensuring that each trip is relaxing, enjoyable, and unforgettable. I am flexible with start locations to accommodate your needs. Join me for a fantastic day on the water, filled with fishing, learning, and nature’s wonders.

Clients often mention the quality of their experience, noting my dedication, knowledge, and friendly nature. Whether fishing in challenging conditions or spending quality time with young anglers, I strive to create an atmosphere that’s both educational and fun. Many have shared how much they appreciated not only catching fish like snook and redfish but also spotting wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, flamingos, and more.

My boat is comfortable and well-maintained, designed to keep everyone safe and dry regardless of the weather. Whether you're interested in fly fishing or light tackle, I provide tailored guidance to help improve your skills and confidence on the water. I take pride in educating guests about the local environment, fisheries, and ongoing conservation challenges facing the Keys.

If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, patient guide who genuinely enjoys sharing these beautiful waters and their bounty, I would be thrilled to welcome you aboard. Together, let’s create lasting memories and celebrate the incredible fishing opportunities that the Florida Keys have to offer.

Recommended Packing:

I provide all the necessary tackle and licenses you’ll need. However, if you have your own saltwater-capable gear, feel free to bring it along. Be sure to bring essential items such as high-quality polarized sunglasses and a hat or cap with a dark brim. Don’t forget your sunblock—please avoid aerosol types. A buff or bandana is also recommended. It’s a good idea to bring lightweight rain gear that can double as a windbreaker during cooler months. If you think of any other items you might need, don’t hesitate to discuss them with me. The only requirement is that you come ready to enjoy yourself and let me share with you the unforgettable experience of what I love about being a guide!
