About Your Guide

Born and raised in South Florida, I have proudly called the Florida Keys my home since 1994. My journey as a fishing guide began at 21 years old in 1996, and for nearly 30 years, I’ve been fortunate to spend countless days on the water in Islamorada, doing what I love most. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Keys Fishing Guides Association.

My passion for fishing was sparked early, starting at age six in 1980 when I first fished alongside my father, a dedicated shallow water angler who generously passed on his knowledge. Being able to dedicate my life to guiding and exploring these waters is a true blessing. My guiding specialty focuses on sight fishing for snook and redfish, primarily using fly and light spinning tackle in shallow waters. I also enjoy targeting a variety of species, including tarpon, permit, bonefish, sharks, trout, triple tail, and snapper. The diverse marine life in this area makes it an ideal destination for anglers of all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. I warmly welcome women and children to join and experience the adventure.

Outside of fishing, I have a deep appreciation for wildlife and nature photography, dedicating much of my wintertime to capturing images of wading and shorebirds, with the Roseate spoonbill being a personal favorite. During these months, the flats and backcountry come alive with a thriving bird population.

My top priority is to provide a relaxed and enjoyable experience that you’ll remember fondly. Come fish with me, and let’s make the most of your time on the water!

Clients often share their positive experiences, highlighting not only successful fishing trips but also the camaraderie and knowledge shared. They appreciate the effort to find fish even in challenging conditions and commend the comfortable, well-maintained boat and the genuine passion for fishing that shines through every outing. Whether you're looking for expert guidance or a patient, friendly atmosphere for family fishing adventures, I aim to exceed expectations.

Diverse fishing conditions and abundant wildlife sightings—including manatees, dolphins, flamingos, and a variety of birds—add richness to every trip. Many guests enjoy learning about local fish habits and environmental challenges, making each expedition both educational and thrilling. From novice anglers receiving hands-on instruction to seasoned fly fishers appreciating fine techniques, the trips aim to cater to all.

Overall, my commitment is to create a first-rate, memorable fishing experience, tailored to your needs and skill level. Whether it’s feeling the adrenaline of the catch or mastering the perfect cast, I look forward to welcoming you aboard for an unforgettable day in the stunning Florida Keys.

Trips typically last between 6 to 8 hours, providing ample time to explore prime fishing spots in both inshore and backcountry waters. This duration allows for the travel needed to reach the best fishing locations as well as to experience varying tide conditions. Depending on the season, the fishing areas can be surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of wading birds, making it an excellent opportunity to bring a good camera or binoculars for wildlife observation. Anglers of all experience levels are welcome to join.
