About Your Guide

Fishing is more than just a hobby for me—it's a true passion. I find great joy in teaching others how to fish and witnessing their excitement when they reel in a big catch. As a proud father of six and a devoted husband to my wife, who also shares my love for fishing, I believe that even a challenging day on the water beats a good day at the office. Spending time on the water every day has given me valuable insight and experience in locating and catching fish. Each day brings new conditions and challenges, and a skilled guide understands how to read the natural signs to make the most of every trip.

Had an amazing redfish outing recently. Jason proved to be an expert guide who helped us find fish right away. I definitely recommend booking a trip with him. It was an absolute thrill spending time with Captain Jason! We caught trout in the morning and redfish in the afternoon. The boat was fantastic—spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Already looking forward to my next adventure! Despite the heat, the fishing experience was fantastic. I truly enjoyed the time on the water with Jason and can’t wait to return to Louisiana for another trip.

Experience an exciting fishing adventure in St. Bernard, LA, where the motto is "anything goes"—meaning you'll keep any legal-sized fish species based on your preference. This trip is perfect for anglers of all ages, including children! We’ll kick off our journey by exploring the nearby saltwater marshes before venturing further out as necessary. To boost our chances of a successful catch, we'll evaluate water conditions and adapt our approach accordingly, employing a variety of methods and techniques, including live bait when appropriate.

Our vessel, Capt. Jason’s 23-foot Tidewater Carolina Bay, is powered by a Yamaha 250 SHO and fully equipped with all the essentials, including a stereo system that plays your personal playlist. Capt. Jason will devote his full attention to sharing his fishing expertise with you, demonstrating techniques such as popping cork fishing, bottom fishing, artificial lure casting, and occasionally sight casting. Along the way, we might encounter local wildlife, offering unique photo opportunities.

With decades of experience on these waters—starting from his early teens—Capt. Jason is a valuable resource for learning about St. Bernard’s rich commercial and sport fishing heritage. Join us for a memorable day combining fun, education, and great fishing!
