Captain Rich hails from southern Louisiana and has been pursuing fish off the coast of Venice, LA for over two decades. While he enjoys targeting many varieties of fish, his passion lies with Redfish and Spotted Trout found in the waters near Venice. Beyond traditional fishing, Rich is a dedicated spearfisherman and currently serves as the vice president of his local spearfishing club. Alongside running fishing charters, he has spent the last 12 years working as a narcotics detective and previously was part of a SWAT team for five years. Captain Rich especially enjoys guiding police officers and veterans on unforgettable fishing adventures.
Every outing with Captain Rich promises an excellent experience. He was very communicative regarding pickup logistics and had an excellent understanding of the best fishing spots. In just three to four hours, our group of six caught our limit of Redfish. Rich is also great company, making the trip not only successful but truly enjoyable. We're definitely planning to return!

Embark on an exciting fishing trip targeting Tripletail and Red Snapper—two highly sought-after species known for their excellent taste and thrilling fight. These fish typically gather around offshore structures like oil rigs, as well as deepwater reefs and rocky areas. Using bottom fishing techniques, you'll head out to some prime locations where the action is sure to be intense. Be prepared for a challenging battle, as both Snapper and Tripletail are strong fighters that won't come easy.
Your adventure takes place aboard Captain Rich's 26-foot Blackjack center console, an ideal vessel for pursuit of trophy fish in these waters. The boat is equipped with top-tier features including Simrad electronics and radar, a Blade Power Pole, and a MinnKota trolling motor, all designed to enhance your fishing experience.
With years of guiding under his belt, Captain Rich excels at helping anglers of all skill levels—from seasoned veterans to first-time fishers—find success. Before turning to guiding, Rich had a decade-long career in law enforcement and enjoys taking police officers, EMS personnel, veterans, and community servants out on the water.
All fishing gear, including rods, reels, tackle, bait, and ice, will be supplied by Captain Rich. Your only responsibilities are to bring your Louisiana fishing license and sunscreen. After your trip, fish cleaning services are available at Venice Marina. Please note, fuel costs are added to the trip price after the trip concludes.
