On June 5, 2023, I had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Davide, whose deep familiarity with the waters—gained since he was nine years old—made all the difference. We were catching fish nearly nonstop throughout the day. He skillfully targeted various species and expertly planned the itinerary to keep us busy with a great mix of American redfish (15), tuna (6), and other varieties. The day also featured an enormous wahoo that broke my line—one of the biggest I’ve ever seen! Though I ended up with heat exhaustion and Captain Davide spent hours cleaning our catch, we walked away with three extra coolers full of fish, making it a truly unforgettable day. Just a heads up: the cleaning station can be competitive, as not everyone was as lucky.
