Louisiana rightfully earns the title “Sportsman's Paradise,” and Venice takes pride in being called “The Fishing Capital of the World.” The offshore landscape, dotted with oil rigs 30 to 50 miles out, acts as a hotspot attracting a diverse array of fish species. Moreover, the vast natural underwater features and canyons form perfect habitats for large pelagic predators like Tuna, Swordfish, and Marlin, making it an excellent destination for anglers seeking a thrilling catch.
You can enjoy year-round fishing for Yellowfin Tuna out of Venice, a fish celebrated for its spirited fight and exceptional meat quality — a must-have on any angler’s bucket list. Beyond Tuna, the waters are rich with opportunities to pursue Swordfish, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Cobia, Wahoo, and even Marlin. Bottom fishing enthusiasts will find plenty to get excited about with species like Red Snapper and Grouper also available.
Captain David operates a powerful 38-foot Fountain center console equipped with triple 350HP Mercury Verado engines. The adventure begins with fresh live bait, ensuring your hooks are never unattended for long. Once hooked, you’ll battle with high-quality Shimano gear designed for the long haul.
At the trip’s conclusion, Captain David and his crew will expertly clean and fillet your catch, so be sure to bring along a cooler to take your fresh fish home. Join Captain David for an exciting deep-sea fishing adventure targeting some of the ocean's most challenging and delicious fish. Tuna fishing off the coast of Venice is productive throughout the year, but keep in mind that weather conditions and fish behavior are often unpredictable. Tuna, especially, tend to dwell at deep and difficult-to-reach depths. To increase your chances of landing giant Yellowfin Tuna, plan your trip during the Fall or Winter months and consider an overnight excursion.
Tuna can be found anywhere from 5 to 200 miles offshore; however, an overnight trip is highly recommended if you want the best opportunity to catch large Yellowfin Tuna. In addition to Tuna, the waters offshore of Venice, LA, also offer excellent billfishing, where you might catch Marlin, Sailfish, or even a Swordfish!
Captain David is dedicated to ensuring you have an outstanding fishing experience. He will put in maximum effort to get you hooked up with fish! His brand new 40-foot Sea Hunter is ideally suited for these waters, featuring the latest equipment, innovative gadgets, top-quality fishing tackle, and a comfortable onboard restroom.
