Our Orange Beach inshore fishing charters provide an exciting chance to reel in a variety of saltwater fish, including Black Snapper, Redfish, Speckled Trout, White Trout, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Flounder, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel, and more. We primarily use a light tackle method because many of the inshore species are smaller, yet they remain quite challenging to catch. In fact, some of these fish can weigh over thirty pounds, and we often land impressive large specimens during our trips.

During spring and early summer, our inshore fishing targets species such as Sheepshead, Redfish, Pompano, Black Drum, and Sea Trout as they migrate back into the bays from their winter resting spots in tidal creeks and rivers. Summer brings the widest array of fish species, including Speckled and White Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, Spanish Mackerel, Black Snapper, and Flounder. In the winter months, although the variety narrows, favorites like Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and Redfish remain available. We often fish near the jetties at Perdido Pass as well as within small bays, canals, and tidal creeks and rivers where these fish tend to stay until spring arrives.

Our fishing techniques vary and include casting live baits or jigs beneath popping floats, dropping artificial scented baits to the bottom, drifting live or dead bait, casting artificial lures and plugs, and free lining live bait. These methods are used to cover a broad range of environments such as open water oyster beds, salt marsh grasses, bridges, passes, sandbar edges, channels, docks, and jetties. Live shrimp is a preferred bait for inshore fishing, but we also use live Bull Minnows, Menhaden, and other bait options depending on conditions.

Inshore fishing during summer and fall is perfect for anglers who enjoy a high catch rate. The abundance of fish species combined with straightforward fishing techniques turns these charters into excellent catching experiences. While not every fish caught is a primary target, common bycatch species such as Catfish, Pigfish, and Skipjack frequently keep the lines busy as we await bites from Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Black Snapper, Pompano, White Trout, and Spanish Mackerel. Although experienced anglers may prefer to avoid bycatch species, they offer valuable learning opportunities for beginners as they bite early and often, helping new anglers develop their skills.
