Captain Jerry holds a United States Coast Guard certification as a 100-Ton Master Captain. Growing up in San Pedro, he was inspired by his father, a commercial fisherman, often helping out whenever the boat returned to the Fisherman’s Wharf. Jerry’s passion for fishing began early, spending much of his free time around the docks. At the age of twelve, he started as a pinhead on the Monte Carlo sport fishing vessel operated by Paul Strasser of San Diego’s Independence Sport Fishing. Over time, he advanced to a deckhand role, where he honed exceptional customer service skills. Working alongside skilled captains, Jerry gained a deep understanding of the critical aspects of boat safety and upkeep.

Jerry continued to fish during his spare time, frequently taking trips to Catalina Island and Mexico. He particularly enjoyed returning with fresh catches such as tuna, bass, yellowtail, and rockfish. Sharing a love for cooking, Jerry and his father often prepared traditional Croatian meals together, delighting in feeding family and friends. With aspirations to operate his own sport fishing venture in The Gulf of Mexico, Jerry chose Sarasota as his base. His mission is to provide clients with memorable fishing experiences, ensuring they leave with expertly filleted fish ready for the table.

Our experience with Captain Jerry was fantastic. He was both engaging and knowledgeable, and most importantly, we caught plenty of fish! It was our first outing in the Gulf, and it was exciting to catch various species while learning about them. There were six passengers in our group: four adults and two children.
