Raised around boats at a marina and earning his Captain’s license by 18, Capt. Bob has spent the majority of his life immersed in the maritime world. With over three decades of experience as a fishing guide in the Florida Keys, his enthusiasm for fishing remains as strong as ever. Capt. Bob is dedicated to delivering exceptional and memorable fishing adventures to every guest he takes out on the water.
Throughout his career, Capt. Bob has explored fishing grounds along the entire eastern coast, including the Florida Keys and South Florida, both as a guide and tournament competitor. His extensive knowledge ensures anglers are placed in the right spots and kept safe while navigating the ocean. For the past 30 years, he’s focused his guiding services exclusively in the Marathon area, specializing in live bait and light tackle techniques.
Capt. Bob has consistently been a top contender in tournaments for species like Tarpon, Sailfish, and Dolphin. Recently, he led his clients to impressive first and second place finishes in the Marathon Habitat for Humanity Mother’s Day Dolphin Tournament. In his own words: “The greatest joy comes from witnessing the excitement in someone's eyes when they land a once-in-a-lifetime fish or introducing young people to the wonders of the ocean and sparking their love for the outdoors. That’s why I continue to love what I do after all these years.”
Capt. Bob’s connection with the Florida Keys dates back to the early 1970s, spending vacations fishing with his father as a child. He officially began his business in 1980 and has since conducted 200 to 300 fishing trips annually. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous rescue efforts assisting boaters during severe weather conditions.
Beyond guiding, Capt. Bob has contributed as an outdoor writer for various magazines and newspapers. He has also appeared on radio and TV shows, including a recent feature on the Outdoor Channel’s “School of Fishing” weekly series. Known for his expertise and professionalism, Capt. Bob aims to provide every client with an unforgettable fishing experience.
Clients frequently praise Capt. Bob and his first mate Jason for their extensive knowledge and tireless efforts. Despite the unpredictability of fishing, their commitment to finding fish never wanes. Many trips result in great catches, including trophy sharks and other exciting species, offering guests plenty of memorable moments on the water.
Whether chasing tarpon or seeking out other game fish, Capt. Bob’s guidance ensures an action-packed day full of learning and fun. His skill and hospitality leave many eager to return and recommend the charter to others, confirming an epic day spent in the Florida Keys alongside a highly capable and friendly crew.
