About Your Guide

Raised near a marina and earning his Captain’s license by 18, Capt. Bob has spent the majority of his life immersed in the world of fishing and boating. With over three decades of experience guiding anglers in the Florida Keys, his enthusiasm for fishing remains as strong as ever. His goal every day is to provide customers with an exceptional and memorable experience on the water.

Throughout the years, Capt. Bob has navigated the eastern coastline extensively, including the full stretch of the Florida Keys and South Florida, both as a guide and competitive tournament fisherman. His expertise ensures not only a successful fishing adventure but also a safe journey on the ocean. For the last 30 years, he has focused his guiding efforts in the Marathon region, specializing in live bait and light tackle fishing techniques.

Capt. Bob has a notable record in prestigious fishing tournaments, consistently ranking among the top with catch success in Tarpon, Sailfish, and Dolphin competitions. Recently, he led anglers to first and second place finishes in the Marathon Habitat for Humanity Mother’s Day Dolphin Tournament. Reflecting on his passion, Capt. Bob shares, “Watching someone’s excitement when they land a fish they’ve dreamed of, or introducing young anglers to the wonders of the sea and inspiring a love for the outdoors, keeps me motivated after all these years.”

His connection to the Florida Keys dates back to the early 1970s, spending childhood vacations fishing alongside his father and eventually starting his own charter business in 1980. Now, he logs hundreds of fishing trips each year, driven by a commitment to customer satisfaction. Beyond guiding, Capt. Bob has been involved in numerous rescue operations during adverse weather, helping fellow boaters in distress.

In addition to his hands-on work, Capt. Bob has contributed as an outdoor writer for various magazines and newspapers, and has appeared in radio and television programs, including a recent role on the Outdoor Channel’s “School of Fishing.” Known for his professionalism, courtesy, and dedication, Capt. Bob strives to help each guest hook their dream catch.

Guests frequently praise the team’s knowledge and effort. Though the unpredictability of fishing means success isn’t guaranteed, Capt. Bob and his crew, including first mate Jason, are relentless in their pursuit of a great catch. Visitors have described their trips as fun and rewarding, with ample opportunities to catch and release various species.

Whether chasing sharks or targeting tarpon, Capt. Bob and his crew maintain high standards of service, ensuring every trip is engaging and educational. One family delighted in battling a 100-pound nurse shark, while another group enjoyed a tarpon expedition, spotting hundreds of fish and receiving expert guidance from the captain. Many clients look forward to returning, impressed by the expertise, kindness, and memorable fishing experiences provided.
