About Your Guide

We understand that a memorable fishing charter hinges on both the crew and the vessels involved. That’s why we proudly offer a fleet of well-equipped boats paired with knowledgeable, enthusiastic captains who have an intimate understanding of Marathon, Florida’s waters. Whether you’re aiming to catch mahi-mahi, tuna, or sailfish offshore, or prefer fishing for snapper and grouper along the reef, our team and boats are prepared to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.

One guest shared, “We had an incredible time! Eric, our guide, was the most knowledgeable marine wildlife expert I’ve ever encountered. He was fantastic with my children and incredibly patient. Although we didn’t catch as many fish as hoped, the day was amazing. Snorkeling over a sunken ship was unforgettable. I highly recommend this adventure.”

During an August holiday, a party of four adults booked a six-hour charter and described it as “a fantastic day out. Captain Des Bot and his mate Jamie were friendly, skilled, and extremely helpful—especially since most of us were new to fishing in Florida. We caught plenty of snapper, enough to feed our family of eight, and enjoyed the excitement of battling both red and small Goliath groupers. Due to choppy conditions in the Gulf, we explored several locations around the Bay, which made for a comfortable and rewarding trip.”

The group also praised the service beyond the boat: “All our fresh catches were expertly cleaned and packed for us to take to a highly recommended spot, where the snapper was transformed into delicious dishes like blackened, tacos, and crumbed preparations. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations in both service and value.”

This trip is designed for anglers aiming to catch truly big game fish. Over a thrilling 10-hour offshore expedition, you'll venture deep into the Atlantic, targeting renowned spots like the Marathon Hump and further beyond. Expect to pursue impressive pelagic species such as Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Blackfin and Skipjack Tuna, Sailfish, and even the majestic Blue Marlin. With ample time and extended range, you'll cover vast areas, follow feeding bird activity, and track weed lines for continuous action out at sea.

But the adventure doesn’t end there. Captain Kerry offers deep-dropping excursions to seek out prized bottom fish including Snowy Grouper, Golden Tilefish, and Queen Snapper. Alternatively, you can switch gears to chase legendary trophy fish like giant Goliath Grouper, Tarpon, Amberjack, Almaco Jack, and large Sharks—providing a true challenge for both skill and endurance.

Your fishing experience takes place aboard a fully equipped 28-foot Mako center console, featuring premium Furuno electronics, outriggers, a live bait well, and robust gear tailored for offshore giants. Live bait is thoughtfully sourced beforehand and provided for your trip. A professional First Mate is onboard to ensure you're consistently on the bite from beginning to end, assisting with locating fish and managing equipment. To recognize their hard work, a 20% tip for the crew is customary.

No fishing license is required, so all you need to bring is your enthusiasm and readiness for an exciting day! Some species have specific regulations regarding catch and release or keeping limits—your captain can provide details as needed. It’s advisable to bring essentials like sunglasses, non-spray sunscreen, bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol consumption is permitted in moderation; however, hard liquor and glass containers are prohibited for safety reasons.

Get ready to venture offshore and experience an unforgettable day of fishing!
