Hello! I’m Captain Harvey, a charter captain based in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina, and the proud owner of my own fishing charter service. If you’re planning a fishing trip with me, I’d like to share a bit about myself. I’m a native of North Carolina, a U.S. Army veteran, and a graduate of the U.S. Maritime Academy. I hold a Master’s License issued by the U.S. Coast Guard and serve on the Pro Staff for Bass Pro Shops.
With extensive experience as a recreational and tournament fisherman, as well as a seasoned fishing guide here in Ocean Isle Beach, I’m equipped to offer an enjoyable outing on the water for anglers of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned pros. Whether you’re looking for solo trips or family-friendly excursions, I’ve got you covered.
My operations are located at Ocean Isle Beach (known locally as OIB), situated just north of the North Carolina-South Carolina border. The fishing grounds I cover include the sandy shores of Brunswick County, NC—such as Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Sunset Beach, and Calabash—as well as nearby South Carolina areas like Little River and North Myrtle Beach. While this may seem like a wide region, it’s easily navigated by boat across these beautiful barrier islands.
My inshore charters provide great opportunities for catching species like Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Black Drum among others. For those interested in nearshore fishing, my trips focus on targeting Spanish and King Mackerel when trolling, with bottom fishing options aimed at Sea Bass, Flounder, Bull Drum, Cobia, and occasionally Grouper. Shark fishing trips are also available, offering a safe and thrilling experience pursuing a variety of sharks ranging from 10 to over 60 pounds.
One of my favorite offerings is the popular 2-hour Kids Fishing Charter, specially designed to keep youngsters engaged by targeting fun and easy-to-catch species such as Puffer Fish, Whiting, Pigfish, Pinfish, and Croakers. The short trip duration helps keep little anglers comfortable and entertained without too much exposure to the sun or elements.
Having grown up fishing throughout North Carolina—from the mountains all the way to the coast—I bring a lifelong passion and deep knowledge of local waters. I began fishing as a child and have continued developing as an angler ever since. My qualifications as your captain include:

You can cancel without any charge up to three days prior to your scheduled trip and the amount will be refunded as a credit to your account. If you cancel within three days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your card.
