Hello! I'm Captain Harvey, the proud owner and operator of my own charter business based in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Before you join me for a fishing excursion, I’d like to share a bit about myself. As a native of North Carolina and a U.S. Army veteran, I bring a strong background and passion to every trip. I graduated from the U.S. Maritime Academy, hold a Master’s License issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, and am honored to be part of the Pro Staff team at Bass Pro Shops.
With years of experience ranging from recreational and tournament fishing to guiding visitors around Ocean Isle Beach, I cater to anglers of all skill levels—from beginners to seasoned fishermen. Whether you’re planning a solo outing or a family adventure, I strive to make every trip both enjoyable and unforgettable.
My home base is in Ocean Isle Beach, often called OIB by locals, situated just north of the North Carolina and South Carolina border. I explore the beautiful barrier islands and beaches of Brunswick County, including Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Sunset Beach, and Calabash, as well as neighboring South Carolina spots like Little River and North Myrtle Beach. Although it covers a large area, these locations are all easily accessible by a short boat ride along the coast.
I offer a variety of fishing charters tailored to different interests. Inshore trips focus on catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and other species, while nearshore excursions are great for trolling Spanish and King Mackerel or bottom fishing for Sea Bass, Flounder, Bull Drum, Cobia, and occasionally Grouper. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, my shark fishing trips safely target sharks ranging from 10 to over 60 pounds.
One of my most popular offerings is the 2-hour Kids Fishing Charter, designed to keep young anglers engaged with species that are fun and easy to catch, such as Puffer Fish, Whiting, Pigfish, Pinfish, and Croakers. The trip is intentionally brief to ensure the kids stay active without getting tired of being outside.
Having grown up fishing from North Carolina’s mountains all the way to its coastline, my knowledge and love for this sport runs deep. I began as an inland angler during my childhood and honed my skills over the years. Among my credentials are:

You can cancel without any fee up to three days prior to your trip and get a credit applied to your account. If you cancel within three days of your trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in a full charge to your payment method.
There are no additional charges. Feel free to bring your sunglasses, hat, and any snacks you prefer. I will provide bottled water and soft drinks for everyone. A Yeti cooler will be available for you to store your snacks and beverages. Kindly leave your personal coolers in your vehicle. Please avoid bringing glass bottles on the boat.
Join Captain Harvey for a 4-hour private inshore fishing adventure in calm, sheltered waters. You’ll explore the Intracoastal Waterway, tidal creeks, marshes, and backwaters, staying away from the open ocean for a more relaxed experience.
During the trip, you'll fish for a variety of inshore species such as Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. Whether you prefer lure fishing or bait fishing, both methods are available.
This outing is perfect for families and requires no prior fishing experience. All necessary gear, bait, tackle, and fishing licenses are included for your convenience.
