Hello! I'm Captain Harvey, your go-to Charter Captain based in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. As the owner and operator of my charter service, I’m excited to share a bit about myself if you're planning to spend a few hours fishing with me. Born and raised in North Carolina, I’m also a proud U.S. Army veteran. I graduated from the U.S. Maritime Academy and hold a Master’s License through the U.S. Coast Guard. Additionally, I’m honored to be part of the Bass Pro Shops Pro Staff.
With extensive experience ranging from recreational and tournament fishing to guiding on the waters of Ocean Isle Beach, I aim to deliver an unforgettable fishing experience tailored to everyone—from beginners to seasoned anglers, whether you're coming solo or bringing the whole family. My base of operations is in Ocean Isle Beach, affectionately known as OIB, situated just north of the North Carolina and South Carolina state boundary.
I fish the scenic island beaches across Brunswick County, including Ocean Isle Beach, Holden Beach, Sunset Beach, and Calabash, as well as nearby South Carolina beaches like Little River and North Myrtle Beach. While this may sound like a vast region, it’s just a short boat ride exploring these beautiful barrier islands and coastal areas.
My inshore charters focus on catching Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and a variety of other species. For those interested in nearshore adventures, I offer trips targeting Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel through trolling, as well as bottom-fishing excursions aiming for Sea Bass, Flounder, Bull Drum, Cobia, and occasionally Grouper. Shark fishing is another thrilling option, with safe and engaging trips fishing for various shark species weighing from 10 up to over 60 pounds.
One of the most popular offerings is my 2-hour Kids Fishing Charters, designed for younger anglers to catch species like Puffer Fish, Whiting, Pigfish, Pinfish, and Croakers. These trips keep the kids actively engaged without spending too much time in the sun and elements.

You can cancel without any fee up to 3 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel within 3 days of the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your payment method.
All essentials are provided; however, we suggest packing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate attire, and any additional items you may need for the trip.
Join Captain Harvey for an exhilarating 4-hour nearshore fishing excursion, exploring reefs and shipwrecks located 1 to 10 miles offshore.
Depending on the fishing conditions, we'll pursue a variety of species including King and Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Bonito, Sea Bass, Snapper, Grouper, and more.
If the sea conditions are unfavorable, we will modify our itinerary to fish closer to the shore for safety and the best experience.
This trip is family-friendly and suitable for anglers of all skill levels—no prior experience required.
