My journey with commercial fishing began at just 12 years old, working the bays and gaining experience on various types of boats. After spending some years aboard shipping and oil service vessels, I relocated to Lower Alabama. As I like to put it, I stumbled upon a new path that led me back to fishing, and from there, my career took off. Since 1987, I’ve been fully dedicated to the charter fishing industry, operating out of Orange Beach, Alabama. I have held a US Coast Guard license since 1982 and have guided over 6,000 paid fishing trips. Nothing brings me more joy than watching guests reel in their catches!

I operate two primary boats: a 44-foot Henriques offshore capable of accommodating up to 20 passengers for private charters catering to groups of all sizes, and a 24-foot Kenner inshore boat used mainly during early spring, fall, and winter when offshore fishing slows down.
Expect clean, well-maintained boats and a courteous crew that is committed to giving their best. When not fishing, I enjoy hunting and, of course, fishing whenever I can. After all these years, the passion for the sport remains as strong as ever.
One memorable four-hour trip had somewhat choppy waters, but the captain skillfully navigated to calmer spots teeming with fish. Our entire family had an amazing time, with the kids landing 30 fish in total. It was truly a fantastic morning that exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended!
The initial payment for this excursion cannot be refunded unless the trip is canceled due to weather conditions. If you cancel on the day of the trip or fail to show up, the entire remaining cost will be charged to your card.
All rods, reels, and tackle are provided. However, we suggest you also bring sunglasses, sunscreen, suitable clothing for the weather, and any personal gear you wish to use during the trip.

Your fishing experience will take place aboard Captain Joe's 46-foot Gilliken sportfisher. This spacious and efficient vessel is perfect for both nearshore and offshore excursions, accommodating up to 16 guests comfortably. Unlike most charters that limit passengers to six, this trip is uniquely suited for larger groups, making it an ideal outing for family and friends.
No prior fishing experience is necessary for this fun-filled activity.
