From an early age, Captain Manny was destined for a life on the water. At just 18 months old, he reeled in his very first fish—a 2-pound flounder—alongside his father. That moment ignited a lifelong passion for fishing. As a fourth-generation fisherman, it’s safe to say that angling runs deep in his family.
Growing up surrounded by boats, fishing gear, and the sea, Manny’s dedication to the sport was evident. At 13, he embarked on the path toward captaining his own fishing charter. He secured his first role as second mate on the 80-foot “New Popeye” party fishing vessel, and throughout his college years in New Orleans, he gained valuable experience aboard various fishing boats.
While pursuing graduate studies in Miami, Manny worked as a mate on the 24-foot “Sweet Gina,” guiding small groups of anglers to prime fishing spots in the Miami area. By age 21, he earned the prestigious position of Captain on a 90-foot party boat, leading two and three-day trips to the Bahamas. This chapter proved unforgettable, as over a seven-year span, he caught an impressive range of Gulfstream species—from a 9-pound Yellowtail Snapper and a 90-pound Grouper to a massive 600-pound Bluefin Tuna and an enormous 800-pound Blue Marlin.
Captain Manny’s extensive experience translates into unmatched expertise when putting clients on the fish. He’s a celebrated angler, with numerous accolades including first-place honors in the Miami Billfish Tournament’s fun fish category. Additionally, he holds multiple I.G.F.A. records and METT Tournament victories, proudly helping his guests achieve their own record-breaking catches.
For Captain Manny, fishing is more than a profession—it’s a genuine love. He delights in introducing newcomers to the sport and cherishes witnessing the excitement on a person’s face when they land their very first catch, knowing they’ve become hooked just as he was decades ago.
Recent outings underscore the quality experience Manny and his crew offer. One trip featured guests from England who had never fished before; despite a few missed strikes, the group had an incredible time, thanks largely to the skillful mate Nick and the attentive crew, Captain Jesus and Jordan. Another pleased angler praised Manny's operation as one of the best fishing trips they've ever enjoyed, highlighting the teamwork involved in landing a 54-inch barracuda and a 7-foot shark during a half-day excursion.
Feedback from many happy guests confirms the top-tier knowledge, dedication, and fun that characterize a charter with Captain Manny and his crew. Whether braving challenging conditions or navigating language barriers—using sign language expertly—Manny and his mates go the extra mile to ensure a memorable fishing adventure. Their commitment even extends to assisting guests when logistical issues arise, ensuring smooth experiences from dock to deep sea.
With Captain Manny at the helm, anglers of all skill levels can expect excellent fishing, enriching education, and an unforgettable time on the water.

Our fishing grounds span from 35 to 400 feet deep, all just minutes from Miami’s shoreline.
