Captain Manny discovered his passion for fishing at a very early age. At just 18 months old, he caught his first fish—a 2-pound flounder—with his father, sparking a lifelong love for the sport. Coming from a lineage of fishermen, he is a fourth-generation angler, and fishing truly runs in his veins. Surrounded by boats, fishing poles, and lures throughout his life, Manny began paving his path to becoming a fishing charter captain at the young age of 13. He started out as a second mate on the 80-foot “New Popeye” party fishing boat, gaining valuable experience. During his college years in New Orleans, he continued working on various fishing vessels, further honing his skills. While attending graduate school in Miami, he served as a mate on the 24-foot “Sweet Gina,” taking small groups of anglers to the prime Miami fishing spots.

By the time he was 21, Manny had earned the role of Captain on a 90-foot party fishing boat that made multi-day trips to the Bahamas. Over seven years in this role, he caught an incredible variety of prized fish in the Gulfstream, ranging from 9-pound Yellowtail Snapper to massive blue marlins weighing up to 800 pounds. His extensive knowledge and expert angling skills allow him to provide exceptional fishing experiences, helping clients reel in memorable catches.

Captain Manny is a celebrated fisherman with numerous accolades to his name, including first place in the Miami Billfish Tournament’s fun fish category. He proudly holds several I.G.F.A. records, METT tournament victories, and has helped his customers achieve their own record-breaking catches.
