About Your Guide

Raised around a marina and earning his Captain’s license at just 18 years old, Capt. Bob has spent the majority of his life immersed in the marine world. After more than three decades as a fishing guide in the Florida Keys, his passion for fishing remains as strong as ever. His goal each day is to deliver top-notch fishing experiences for all his clients. Over the years, Capt. Bob has guided fishing trips along the entire eastern coastline, including the Florida Keys and South Florida, bringing extensive knowledge and expertise to every outing. Safety and success on the water are his priorities.

For the last 30 years, Capt. Bob has focused his guiding efforts exclusively in the Marathon region, specializing in live bait and light tackle fishing. His impressive tournament record includes consistent top finishes in Tarpon, Sailfish, and Dolphin competitions. Recently, he led his anglers to first and second place victories at the Marathon Habitat for Humanity’s Mother’s Day Dolphin Tournament. As Capt. Bob shares, “Watching the excitement in someone’s eyes when they catch a once-in-a-lifetime fish or introducing youngsters to the wonders of the ocean—that’s what keeps me passionate about guiding year after year.”

Capt. Bob’s fishing journey began in the early 1970s when he fished in the Keys during family vacations. He launched his own business in 1980 and has since conducted between 200 to 300 fishing trips annually. Throughout his career, he has also performed numerous rescues during challenging weather conditions. Beyond guiding, Capt. Bob has contributed articles to outdoor magazines and newspapers and appeared on radio and television programs, including the Outdoor Channel’s “School of Fishing.” Known for his professionalism, skill, and dedication, Capt. Bob aims to help every angler catch a memorable fish.

Clients often praise Bobby and his first mate Jason for their deep understanding of fishing in the Florida Keys. Their hard work to locate and catch fish is evident, no matter the challenges of a given trip. As the saying goes, fishing is about the chase as much as the catch, and this crew never stops trying. Guests have enjoyed everything from keepers to fish released after a fun battle on the line, with Capt. Bob’s guidance consistently earning high marks.

Whether targeting sharks, tarpon, or other species, Capt. Bob and Jason put their full effort into each adventure. Even in less-than-ideal weather, they’ve helped anglers hook a wide variety of fish, such as a thrilling 100-pound nurse shark battle cherished by a young angler. Tarpon charters are especially popular, with clients reporting lively action and Capt. Jason’s expert steering and knowledge making for a memorable day on the water.

Many guests return home with tales of epic fishing trips, sore arms, and unforgettable memories, praising Capt. Bob’s dedication and ability to keep them on the bite throughout the day. His reputation as an exceptional captain and guide continues to grow, making him a top choice for anyone looking to fish the Florida Keys.

Renowned as one of the premier fishing boats, this vessel is perfect for both competitive tournament fishing and enjoyable family outings. Its center console design is ideal for targeting fast, powerful species like sailfish, Mahi, Wahoo, or Tarpon. This layout enables anglers to swiftly move to the front, preventing the fishing line from rubbing against the boat and increasing the chances of landing more fish.

Powered by twin 300hp Yamaha engines, it provides a quick and smooth ride to fishing spots. The boat is equipped with an impressive tower, enhancing the captain’s visibility to spot fish and birds from afar, which significantly boosts your catch rates. Versatility is key, as this boat performs excellently both in shallow inshore waters for species like Tarpon, and far offshore targeting larger game fish such as Swordfish or Marlin.
