Because tides significantly affect fishing conditions, it’s always a good idea to have a conversation with Captain Dave before your trip to plan accordingly.

Dressing appropriately is essential: wear sneakers, a wide-brimmed hat, and polarized sunglasses, along with clothing that protects you from the sun.

You can cancel your booking without any charges up to three days prior to the scheduled trip and receive a credit to your account. If you cancel within three days of the trip, the deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancelling on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in the full trip amount being charged to your card.

This trip is designed for a maximum of 2 people and lasts up to 6 hours, though you may opt for a shorter outing if preferred. Please note that children must be at least 10 years old to participate.
Explore the diverse waters of Jacksonville’s St. Johns River, Intracoastal Waterway, saltmarshes, and inlet areas using light tackle spinning reels with live bait, artificial lures, or slip-float rigs. This fishery operates year-round, 7 days a week, targeting species such as Redfish, Sea Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, and Flounder.
As the angler, you take the lead in fishing while Capt. Dave acts as your coach, guide, and historian—he won’t catch the fish for you. You should be able to stand, move freely, and stay mobile throughout the trip. Similar to golfing, this style of fishing requires active participation and cannot be done sitting in a lawn chair.
We use light-action spinning rods and reels ideal for casting jigs, along with baitcasting gear for bottom fishing and the traditional Northeast Florida slip-float technique. The boat features both front and rear casting decks and is equipped with a top-quality trolling motor to hold position or stealthily drift along marsh grasses and oyster beds. Expect to fish structures like docks, underwater edges, and ledges.
Tides play a crucial role here in Northeast Florida, so we prioritize calm water conditions—no seasickness medicine needed.
Essential Gear: Please wear comfortable, grippy sneakers—no open-toed footwear, work boots, or heels. Bring a hat and polarized sunglasses, and dress appropriately for the weather to ensure a comfortable day on the water.
Save any celebration until back at the dock, as alcohol is prohibited onboard for insurance reasons.
Fish cleaning and bagging will take place after the charter concludes once the boat is on the trailer, available on a gratuity basis.
Important to Know: Please do not bring coolers onboard. Any food and drinks should be packed in a plastic bag to be stored in provided coolers—no glass containers allowed.

Equipped with essential amenities including a bait tank, sounder, chart plotter, VHF radio, trolling motor, and all USCG safety gear, anglers can expect a well-prepared and safe trip. Coolers and ice are thoughtfully provided onboard, so no need to bring your own. While there’s no restroom onboard, convenient park facilities with restrooms are nearby for breaks. Standing and mobility are required, along with basic tackle handling and casting skills, ensuring an active and rewarding day on the water.
