Since earning his degree in Economics and playing baseball at Texas A&M in 2014, he has focused his energy on fly fishing. Whether chasing bass through the lakes and rivers of the Hill Country or exploring coastal salt marshes and lagoons for redfish, Dylan has fully immersed himself in Texas's diverse fishing environments throughout the year. The initial payment for this journey cannot be refunded unless the cancellation is due to weather conditions. If you cancel on the day of the trip or fail to show up, the full remaining amount will be charged to your card.
Please remember to bring polarized sunglasses, your Texas fishing license, and non-black soled shoes. Don't forget rain gear, as well as lunch, snacks, and drinks for the day. A hat and sunscreen are also recommended for sun protection.
If you prefer to use your own equipment, a 7-8 weight rod with a floating line is ideal. Fly rods and reels, along with hand-tied flies, will be provided.

For saltwater excursions, Captain Dylan typically operates out of Rockport, Texas. However, depending on the season and other factors, trips may extend as far south as Aransas Pass or as far north as Port O’Connor.
The primary focus is sight casting for redfish in shallow waters, with chances to target Black Drum, Speckled Trout, Flounder, and Sheepshead as well. During spring and summer, rising tides create excellent opportunities to catch Bull Reds and Jack Crevalle within the bay.
When it comes to gear, Captain Dylan encourages anglers to bring their own equipment but can provide everything you need if necessary. Ideally, you should bring a 7-8 weight rod with floating line. Occasionally, a heavier setup (10-12 weight) might be required for larger Bull Reds, Big Jacks, or even Tarpon. You can discuss your gear in detail with Dylan before the trip so he can help fill any gaps.
Dylan supplies his own carefully hand-tied flies, chosen to match the water depth and clarity each day. Classic shrimp and crab patterns in various colors and sizes are staples along the Texas coast. Expect to find flies such as Clouser Minnows, Tarpon Toads, Borski Sliders, Seaducers, Kwans, Crimps, and Gurglers in sizes 2, 4, and 6, with colors including tan, white, purple, chartreuse, and pink.
Captain Dylan also provides ice, water, and coolers to keep you comfortable during your adventure. It’s recommended that you bring polarized sunglasses, your Texas fishing license, a hat, sunscreen, boat shoes or non-black soled footwear, rain gear, and a packed lunch for full-day trips.
