Captain Derrick holds a 100-ton captain’s license and brings over two decades of fishing expertise from Long Island. Born and raised in Huntington on the North Shore, he began his maritime journey working as deckhand aboard the James Joseph. Later, he relocated eastward where he launched a new career as an outboard technician at Gone Fishing Marina. Alongside this, Captain Derrick has gained valuable experience by working as both deckhand and captain with the renowned Viking Fleet in Montauk, as well as serving as a relief captain for the Grand Slam charter boat.
Drawing from these extensive experiences, he now operates his own charter boat, dedicated to helping clients catch fish while providing an enjoyable and memorable outing. You can cancel without any charges up to 7 days prior to your trip and the amount will be refunded as credit to your account. If you cancel within 7 days of your trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip cost being billed to your card.

Our fishing adventures focus on Montauk Point and Block Island, where we target trophy-sized striped bass. From May through July, we fish at Montauk, just a quick 15-minute boat ride away. As the season progresses into August and September, the striped bass migrate to Block Island, which is about a 45-minute trip. We expertly use diamond jigs, bucktails, and live eels—never trolling.
As your captain and mate, I personally run the boat, so there's no additional crew on board. If you have specific preferences or techniques for catching large striped bass, we’re here to help you succeed. We also provide filleting and icing services for your catch.
All bait and tackle are supplied, so you only need to bring your food, drinks, and boots. Our vessel is a 25-foot Steiger Craft, built for a comfortable and efficient fishing experience.
