Captain Jim and his wife Carolyn share a deep passion for fishing that has brought them together for over two decades. Their journey began fishing side by side in Montauk, NY. While Captain Jim has been captaining a six-pack boat for the past ten years, Carolyn spent much of her time fishing with friends, gathering the skills and knowledge needed to launch their own venture. Over the last five years, their dream has become a reality with the purchase and operation of their very own charter boat.
Between them, they bring more than 35 years of invaluable local expertise, fishing both inshore and offshore throughout the East End. Their enthusiasm for fishing extends beyond home waters—during vacations, they seek opportunities to fish in places like Florida, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and wherever the ocean calls. They have competed in numerous tournaments and have had success with bluefish, striped bass, and even large sharks.

If you cancel less than 14 days before the trip, your deposit will not be refunded and will be given to the guide. Canceling on the day of the trip or failing to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your card.

Choose between a 5-hour or 9-hour day excursion to explore the abundant inshore and nearshore waters with an experienced captain and a top-quality vessel.
Captain Jim offers a range of fishing trips tailored to your preferences, including half-day, full-day, and extended full-day outings. Half-day trips are split into morning and afternoon charters: morning departures start at 6 am and return by 11 am, while afternoon trips leave at noon and return by 5 pm. During these 5-hour trips, you’ll be trolling, jigging, or bottom fishing, targeting species such as Striped Bass, Bluefish, Fluke, Black Sea Bass, Porgies, Blackfish, Cod, and Ling.
For those wanting more time on the water, the full-day trips depart at 6 am and come back at 3 pm, lasting up to 9 hours. These excursions involve trolling, drifting, jigging, and anchoring, depending on your desired catch. Similar species are targeted as in half-day trips, with the added benefit of pursuing larger fish and greater quantities.
On the day of your adventure, you’ll board Captain Jim’s impressive 32’ Topaz Sportfish, powered by twin Caterpillar engines generating 640 HP. Known for their smooth, comfortable ride, the Topaz Express boats are equipped with top-notch safety gear including an Acr Class 1 EPIRB, first aid kit, throw ring, lifejackets, and a Switlik SOLAS A life raft.
