About Your Guide

Raised around marinas and earning his Captain’s license at just 18, Capt. Bob's life has been deeply connected to the sea. With over three decades of experience as a fishing guide in the Florida Keys, his enthusiasm for fishing remains as strong as ever. His goal is to provide every client with an exceptional and memorable fishing adventure on the water.

Throughout his career, Capt. Bob has navigated the waters along the entire eastern coast of the United States, including South Florida and all of the Florida Keys, both as a guide and a competitive tournament angler. His extensive knowledge ensures not only a successful fishing trip but also a safe one. For the past 30 years, he has focused exclusively on guiding fishing excursions in the Marathon area, specializing in live bait and light tackle techniques.

Capt. Bob boasts a solid track record in tournaments targeting species like Tarpon, Sailfish, and Dolphin. Recently, he led his clients to impressive victories, securing first and second places in the Marathon Habitat for Humanity Mother’s Day Dolphin Tournament. As he likes to say, “Witnessing the excitement in an angler’s eyes when they land that once-in-a-lifetime fish, or introducing young people to the wonders of the ocean and inspiring a love for the outdoors, are what keep me passionate about this profession after all these years.”

His connection to the Florida Keys started back in the early 1970s during family vacations with his father. By 1980, he launched his own guiding business, conducting between 200 and 300 fishing trips annually. Throughout his extensive career, Capt. Bob has also assisted numerous boaters during severe weather emergencies, demonstrating his commitment to safety on the water.

Beyond guiding, Capt. Bob has contributed as a writer for various outdoor magazines and newspapers and has appeared on radio and television programs, including the Outdoor Channel’s “School of Fishing.” Known for his professionalism, courtesy, and dedication, he aims to create unforgettable fishing experiences for every guest.

Clients consistently praise the expertise and effort of Capt. Bob and his crew. Even when fishing conditions are challenging, their hard work and knowledge shine through, making every trip enjoyable and worthwhile. Whether chasing sharks or tarpon, the team’s persistence and skill result in thrilling moments, like battling a powerful 100-pound nurse shark or encountering large schools of tarpon.

Many guests describe their time on the water with Capt. Bob and his first mate Jason as both educational and exciting, highly recommending the charter for anyone looking to experience the best fishing adventures the Florida Keys have to offer.

Embark on an exciting adventure into the vibrant blue waters of the Gulf Stream, where we seek out dynamic features such as current rips, weed lines, and diving seabirds. This fertile environment offers opportunities to catch a variety of species including Dolphin Fish (Mahi), Tuna, Sailfish, Wahoo, Sharks, Marlin, and Swordfish.

For those interested in deep-sea fishing, we venture far offshore using heavy-duty equipment to target prized deep-water species like Snowy Groupers, Tilefish, Barrelfish, and Queen Snappers. Additionally, we offer specialized trips focused exclusively on Swordfish, fishing along the edge of the continental shelf known as “The Wall.” On the way out or back, you might also land some Mahi, giving you a chance to experience top-tier big game fishing for Swordfish and Marlin.

Please note that these offshore excursions require an additional fee to cover increased fuel costs. Powered by twin 300HP engines, our boat ensures a fast and safe journey to these prime fishing grounds.
