Had an amazing outing with Captain Phil. It was my first experience waterfowl hunting and using a shotgun on live targets rather than just clay pigeons. He made the whole process effortless and enjoyable. He patiently answered all my questions, guided me through everything, and handled unexpected challenges smoothly. We still managed to reach our limit on diverse ducks! Looking forward to the next adventure!

While Captain Phil and the fishing experience were excellent, the booking process left much to be desired. I initially reserved a trip with Captain Joey with a dock less than 10 minutes from my hotel. The night before, I received a message about a new pick-up point two hours away with Captain Phil, as Joey was unavailable. Phil and I arranged a pickup about 20 minutes from where I was staying. The trip went well, but after returning, my credit card was charged $110 more than the original price. Apparently, Phil’s rate is higher than Joey’s, but I wasn’t notified or asked to approve the extra charge. After trying twice to reach customer service for a refund, I received no response and am now disputing the charge with my card issuer.

We had an unforgettable experience with an incredible guide who was wonderful with my 9-year-old daughter. He was patient, funny, and exceptionally helpful to my daughter, wife, and me. We caught many large fish, including some by my daughter! Communication was excellent, and Phil prepared thoroughly and provided several options for the trip. Truly a fantastic outing.

Took my children on a family lobster charter with Phil, and it was a wonderful experience. He patiently taught the kids the ropes, and everyone had a memorable time!

Unfortunately, our charter fishing trip in Tampa Bay with Captain Phil was disappointing. Having been on numerous charters before, we had reasonable expectations. Although Phil called beforehand to discuss our shark fishing plans, he came unprepared with insufficient gear and too few rods for managing the trip properly. When a large shark pulled in our line, causing it to strip from the reel, Phil became argumentative, raised his voice at both adults and kids, and showed frustration when the anchor line wrapped around the propeller. When we mentioned he hadn’t explained what to do during a shark strike, he admitted he missed that step.

With about an hour left, we moved closer to the launch site to target smaller fish, but again, Phil didn’t instruct the children on proper fishing techniques. Instead, he grew agitated and snapped at them. After asking him to calm down and explain the process, he apologized and said his focus was on safety. Based on this experience, I would caution anyone considering a trip with Captain Phil to reconsider.
