After finishing high school, he dedicated several years to commercial fishing across the Gulf of Mexico. At 21, Captain Matthew earned his 100-ton USCG Captain’s license and took command of a 65-foot party boat operating out of Destin. After a year, he returned to commercial fishing, where he spent nearly a decade honing his skills.
In 2011, Captain Matthew was offered the chance to lead a private sportfishing charter, where he quickly proved his expertise by landing billfish as well as deep-sea bottom dwellers such as Snapper and Grouper.
