Captain Mike has been navigating the waters of the Gulf since 1989, beginning his journey as the First Mate aboard the Silver Lining. After earning his Captain’s license in 1992, he spent off-seasons piloting crew boats in Louisiana’s oil fields. Since 2004, Captain Mike has been operating his own fishing vessel. Our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable fishing adventure that will have your family eager to return year after year.
Captain Mike received recognition as Captain of the Year. Alongside his crew member Carter, they offer an exceptional experience. Carter’s extensive knowledge and support were invaluable, especially for my daughter on her very first deep-sea fishing trip—she caught more fish than I did! I would highly recommend booking a trip with them.
Mike and his deckhand demonstrated great skill and patience, especially with a group mostly made up of children who were new to offshore fishing. They guided everyone with care and ensured everyone had a fantastic time. If you’re seeking an amazing introduction to deep-sea fishing, you won’t regret choosing Mike and his team.
You can cancel at no cost if you do so at least 14 days prior to your scheduled trip and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel less than 14 days before the trip, your deposit will be non-refundable and retained by the guide. Cancellations on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full payment being charged to your card.
All necessary gear will be provided. However, we suggest you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal equipment you wish to use during the trip.
Four-hour fishing charters offer an excellent introduction to deep sea fishing. Whether you are alone or in a group of up to six, Captain Mike will provide you with fishing options before departing the dock. During a typical 4-hour trip, you can choose between trolling with live bait to catch King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, and Bonita, or bottom fishing for Vermilion and White Snapper. The distance traveled from shore varies depending on your fishing preference: bottom fishing usually takes place 8 to 14 miles offshore, while trolling is done closer, approximately 1 to 5 miles from shore.
