Captain John, affectionately known as "JT," grew up in North Carolina where he spent his childhood fishing along the coast with his father. From a young age, he developed a deep love and curiosity for every part of the fishing experience. In 1980, Captain JT relocated to the Destin/Fort Walton region. After spending time fishing on the local piers, he realized that fishing was truly his passion. Not long afterward, he invested in his first boat and began exploring the local waters and participating in fishing tournaments. Over time, he explored various fishing styles including commercial, back bay, and offshore fishing. After trying them all, he found his true calling in back bay and inshore Gulf fishing. With his extensive knowledge of the local waters, Captain JT guarantees an unforgettable fishing trip for you and your group.
Captain JT was fantastic! The boat was immaculate and well-maintained. Even though the weather was quite windy that day, JT adapted by staying closer to the shore. We still managed to catch plenty of fish, including a few large Redfish. The kids had an amazing time, and I would absolutely recommend this experience. John was wonderful. We initially planned to fish near the shore, but I (Michele) got seasick, so we switched to bay fishing. With John's guidance, my husband managed to reel in some fish. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable outing.
You can cancel without any fees if you do so at least 3 days prior to your trip and the amount will be returned as credit to your account. If you cancel within 3 days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancelling on the day of the trip or not showing up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your payment method.

Choose between a 6-hour or 8-hour trip where you’ll have the chance to catch a variety of species including Bonito, Cobia, Flounder, Gag Grouper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Redfish, and Spanish Mackerel. With Captain JT’s expert knowledge of the best fishing spots, you’re in for a real chance at landing a trophy-worthy catch.
Your adventure takes place aboard Captain JT’s 22-foot Cape Horn center console boat, powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine. The vessel comfortably fits up to five anglers, so invite your friends or family along for a fantastic day on the water.
All fishing gear is provided, including rods, reels, tackle, lures, licenses, and live bait. If fly fishing is your preference, Captain JT will supply the necessary equipment as well. At the end of your trip, the captain will clean your catch at no extra cost. You only need to bring your own food, drinks, sunscreen, a hat, and a cooler with ice to take home your fresh fish.
