About Your Guide

Captain Brooks is not just a passionate fisherman; he brings decades of guiding experience and deep familiarity with the local waters. With thousands of hours spent fishing, he combines his expertise and enthusiasm to deliver outstanding service, earning a remarkable reputation along the way. Captain Brooks takes great pleasure in helping clients and friends catch a variety of regional species, including Red Snapper, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, and Cobia, through trolling and bottom fishing techniques. Join a 4th generation local Captain for an unforgettable fishing adventure!

Our trip with Captain Brooks and his first mate John went far beyond a typical fishing outing. It was truly a memorable experience that exceeded our expectations. The crew, including mate Tater, provided top-notch service, and we've definitely found our go-to Captain for the Orange Beach/Gulf Shores region. Although the weather was rainy at times, the Captain made an effort to find better spots for fishing, even though results were limited due to conditions. This excursion focused on methods similar to jug lining for catfish but adapted for sharks—placing bait on buoys and circling while trolling in the hopes of hooking a shark. Only one sand shark was caught, but it was a protected species and had to be released. Had we known the style of fishing in advance, we may have chosen a different, less expensive option. Additionally, the 20% tip for the deckhand was mandatory, which brought the total cost above initial expectations. Despite this, the Captain and deckhand were friendly and professional, just not what we anticipated for a shark fishing trip.

Hey Cody, we're sorry your outing wasn't what you expected. We understand the fishing method was different from what you had in mind and appreciate your feedback regarding the catch and release situation. We also apologize if there was any misunderstanding about tipping; while we recommend a 20% tip via text and email, it is not mandatory. We value your comments and have reached out with a discount offer. We hope to provide a better fishing experience for you in the future!

Unfortunately, our fishing trip didn’t match what we had hoped for or what was advertised. We didn’t catch the species mentioned, and the boat wasn’t ready at the scheduled time. Even after adding two extra hours to our trip, much of that time was spent traveling and waiting instead of fishing. It was disappointing for both adults and kids, especially considering the high price. We wanted to share our honest opinion so others can make an informed decision before booking. The experience did not feel worth the cost.

Hi William, thank you again for sharing your thoughts. As we discussed, we have provided a partial refund and offered a discount toward your next trip. We are confident your next fishing adventure with us will meet or exceed expectations!
