Captain Blair, the owner, has been familiar with the waters surrounding both the Delmarva Peninsula and Hilton Head Island since the late 1970s. What began as leisurely boating and fishing trips with friends and family blossomed into a lifelong enthusiasm. In 1996, he transformed this passion into a career by starting to guide kayak tours around Hilton Head Island. After guiding thousands of kayakers over several years, he earned his boat captain’s license and, by 2006, launched his own charter business.
Today, Blair commands a state-of-the-art Freeman 29 custom center console catamaran. This vessel is renowned for its sleek design, often described as the “Ferrari of fishing boats.” Blair is eager to welcome guests aboard for an unforgettable experience. Beyond his skills as a fishing guide, he is also a personable host with extensive knowledge of the local waterways and wildlife.
Having begun his journey with family and friends decades ago, Blair still approaches every outing with the same care and attention: “I treat each trip as if I’m taking my own family out on the water.” — Captain Blair
Visitors have praised Blair for his friendliness, expertise, and willingness to assist, making him an ideal guide. Many guests highly recommend his services and express their enthusiasm to book future trips. Families have found his calm and patient approach perfect for introducing young children to fishing. One memorable trip included catching six fine tooth sharks and answering numerous questions about marine life, leaving everyone with lasting positive memories.
You can cancel your booking free of charge if you do so at least 7 days prior to your scheduled trip and will be issued a credit to your account. If you cancel less than 7 days before the trip, your deposit will be non-refundable and paid to the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip amount being charged to your payment method.
All necessary gear will be provided; however, we suggest you also bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and clothing suitable for the weather.
Our extended ocean excursions take you 25 to 50 miles offshore to explore distant towers, natural live bottoms, wrecks, and reefs. Perfect for those aiming to bring home fresh seafood, these full-day trips provide access to the widest variety of species in the area. Designed for anglers aged 15 and older, with a maximum of four participants, this experience promises a serious, immersive adventure at sea.
The Freeman 29 is truly in its element on the open ocean, where its renowned hull delivers a smooth, "magic carpet ride" as it effortlessly glides over waves. This design ensures gentle landings and superior comfort, setting the Freeman apart from other boats. Fair warning: once you ride on a Freeman, other boats might seem lacking!
However, ocean conditions can sometimes become too rough. When the seas aren't safe or enjoyable, we offer the option to stay within the more sheltered backcountry inshore waters, with an adjusted itinerary and pricing to match. We prioritize your comfort and fun, so this trip is subject to ocean weather conditions. We look for days with lighter winds and calmer waters and, when possible, will gladly reschedule your trip to a better date.
Destinations vary based on sea conditions and travel speed each day. We often aim for bluewater fishing, which shifts seasonally, opening up opportunities to catch tuna, mahi, sailfish, wahoo, and more. Across the trip’s range, you might encounter species like almaco jack, amberjack, barracuda, cobia, grouper, king mackerel, various snappers (red and vermillion), triggerfish, and others.
Our fishing techniques adapt throughout the year, so we encourage you to reach out in advance to discuss current conditions and what’s biting. On a full-day trip, you can expect a dynamic mix of trolling, bottom fishing, and jigging, with occasional chances to sight cast to surface fish. We focus on the most productive methods to maximize your catch and enjoyment. Sharing your fishing goals with us beforehand helps ensure we tailor the trip to meet or exceed your expectations.
