Your Guide: Blair W.

About Your Guide

Captain Blair, the owner, has a deep-rooted connection to the waters surrounding the Delmarva Peninsula and Hilton Head Island, having explored these areas since the late 1970s. What began as casual boating and fishing trips with family and friends quickly grew into a true passion. In 1996, he took that passion to the next level by starting to guide kayak tours around Hilton Head Island. After hosting thousands of kayakers over several years, he earned his boat captain’s license and, by 2006, launched his own charter service. Today, Blair commands a state-of-the-art Freeman 29 custom center console catamaran, a vessel often likened to the "Ferrari of Fishing Boats," known for both speed and style. He looks forward to welcoming guests aboard for memorable adventures.

More than just a fishing guide, Blair offers a warm and knowledgeable presence, sharing his extensive understanding of local waterways and wildlife. His approach remains grounded in the same values that started it all decades ago with family outings: "Every trip is treated like a day out with my own family," says Capt. Blair.

Guests regularly praise Blair for his friendliness, expertise, and attentive guidance, describing him as the ideal companion for any fishing trip. Families appreciate his patient approach, especially with young beginners, making their first fishing experiences enjoyable and stress-free. Many have left satisfied, eager to return for another outing with Captain Blair.

A short fishing trip tailored for young attention spans and beginners not quite ready for “big kids” fishing. Lasting just 2 hours, this is our briefest charter, designed with comfort and enjoyment in mind for the youngest anglers. It offers a fantastic introduction to fishing, with a good chance of spotting dolphins along the way.

Important: Although there is no strict age limit, this trip works best with one or two children around the ages of 4 to 8. If you’re looking for an experience where older kids, teens, or adults actively fish, this trip isn’t suitable. Instead, consider our 3-hour Family Shark Adventure or other longer trips.

The vessel itself sets this trip apart. Our Freeman 29, a high-performance catamaran by Freeman Boatworks, is praised for its ideal size and sleek design. It glides effortlessly across choppy seas, providing a smooth ride. With space comparable to a 34-foot monohull, there’s plenty of room onboard, so families never feel cramped. The high gunwales offer extra safety, preventing little explorers from accidentally falling overboard. This custom-built boat exudes quality craftsmanship that you can both see and feel.

When conditions allow, we include cast netting—a traditional method for catching baitfish. This hands-on activity is a hit with kids, giving them a chance to interact with small sea creatures. Additionally, fishing with rod and reel is a core part of the trip, ensuring the little ones get the thrill of catching their own fish. This charter is designed to be an engaging, fun fishing experience for children!

Catch and release only.
