Book your adventure now for an unforgettable battle with some of the most powerful saltwater light tackle gamefish in the world!

The tarpon, also known as the Atlantic tarpon or silver king, stands as one of the most sought-after sport fish globally. Renowned for their incredible fighting spirit when hooked on light tackle, these fish offer anglers a thrilling challenge. Central Florida boasts a variety of tarpon fishing charters, making it the closest place to Orlando for tarpon fishing. During the warmer months—from spring through fall—anglers can target large tarpon along the beaches and just outside the inlets. For year-round action, backcountry tarpon fishing takes place on the flats of Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River, with prime locations including New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet, Port Canaveral, and Cocoa Beach.

The peak tarpon fishing season typically runs from April to November, with May through October being ideal for catching large tarpon in beach, nearshore, and backcountry areas. Smaller tarpon, weighing between 5 and 20 pounds, inhabit the far backcountry waters such as the Indian River, Banana River, Sebastian Inlet, and Mosquito Lagoon throughout the year. These smaller fish are perfect targets for light tackle using either spin or fly fishing techniques. Meanwhile, the nearshore and beach areas are home to the massive 100-plus-pound tarpon, which appear starting in April and remain abundant throughout the summer months.

Beyond tarpon, these charters also offer the excitement of catching other species like snook and redfish that share the same waters, providing a diverse and exhilarating fishing experience.
