Experience the excitement of fishing on Alaska’s top trophy rainbow trout river at Naknek River Camp. Revel in world-class angling with seasonal highlights such as the smolt migrations in June, the salmon runs throughout July, the spectacular aerial silvers in August, and the extraordinary trophy rainbows that dominate September.

Why Choose Naknek River Camp?

Run by Jim and his family, Naknek River Camp offers a genuine Alaskan adventure. Their teamwork ensures a high-quality experience encompassing housekeeping, guiding, and photography, all handled with personal care and dedication.

Jim’s ability to offer this exceptional trip at roughly half the cost of most Alaskan fishing lodges stems from keeping the camp family-operated. His wife manages housekeeping, serves as the chef, and is a full-time licensed fishing guide. His eldest son, a passionate angler and four-time Michigan State Casting Champion, serves as Jim’s trusted partner around the camp. Their daughter, also a Michigan State Casting Champion, doubles as camp photographer and dessert chef. The youngest son is beginning his guiding career, specializing in netting large salmon.

Naknek River Camp also provides unexpected amenities for a remote Alaskan setting, including reliable phone service for guests. Road connectivity to King Salmon and Naknek towns means access to medical care, general stores, groceries, and fishing and hunting supplies.

Target Species by Season
