Katmai Trophy Lodge is perfectly positioned along the banks of the renowned Naknek River, right where the tidewater begins. This prime location offers swift access to both ocean-fresh salmon and the famed trophy rainbow trout fishing that the Naknek River is celebrated for. Nestled in the heart of Bristol Bay, the lodge is a full-service fishing retreat situated just two miles from the boundary of the internationally acclaimed Katmai National Park.

While Bristol Bay is famous for hosting the world's largest salmon runs, it’s also Alaska’s exclusive “Trophy Rainbow Trout” designated area. The river system originates from the snow-capped peaks of Katmai National Park, flowing through a stunning chain of pristine lakes and rolling tundra hills before the Naknek River empties into the Bering Sea. This untouched, nutrient-rich environment supports fish that grow to remarkable sizes.

With salmon runs numbering in the millions, trophy trout and char often exceeding 30 inches, and some of the finest bear viewing opportunities worldwide, Katmai Trophy Lodge offers an unparalleled experience for outdoor enthusiasts. Anglers have the chance to pursue giant Rainbow Trout, Char, and the rare, exquisite Grayling thriving in these fertile waters.

Your fishing adventures will be guided by some of the most skilled professionals in Bristol Bay who take great pride in ensuring the best possible experience. Every guide is an expert fly fisherman capable of teaching cutting-edge techniques while providing top-tier tackle and flies, maximizing your chances for success on the water.

The lodge’s boats and equipment are specially outfitted for optimal performance, featuring high-quality gear from brands such as Orvis, Simms, StealthCraft, Koffler Boats, Scott, Temple Fork Fly Rods, and Hatch fly reels.

Included in every standard package is a visit to the iconic Brooks River and Falls—considered a must-see destination. The Brooks River offers exceptional trout fishing in an intimate stream environment along with a spectacular sockeye salmon run that sustains a rich ecosystem, including some of the world's largest bears. Be sure to bring your camera to capture these unforgettable scenes.

Katmai Trophy Lodge collaborates with Branch River Air, whose meticulously maintained floatplanes provide fly-out options to other renowned Bristol Bay fishing locales such as the American, Alagnak, Nushagak, Moraine, Ugashik, and Kulik rivers, as well as countless hidden gems in the remote regions of southwest Alaska.
