Captain Wayne has been passionate about boating since the early 2000s and currently captains a Nauticstar 26-foot center console outfitted with twin 150 horsepower Yamaha engines. His fishing roots trace back to 1973 when his father was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, giving him decades of local angling knowledge. Prior to his career as a captain, Wayne spent 35 years working as a professional chef. His love for the sport started in childhood, fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. He excels in both bottom fishing and trolling techniques. In addition to his expertise on the water, Captain Wayne is also an accomplished cook who enjoys sharing tips on preparing your catch or suggesting outstanding local eateries. Our experience with Captain Wayne was fantastic. At the very first spot, three out of four of us had bites on our initial cast, and two fish were landed within the first three minutes.
You can cancel without any charges up to three days prior to your trip and get a credit applied to your account. If you cancel within three days of your departure, your deposit will be retained by the guide. For cancellations on the day of the trip or no-shows, the full trip cost will be billed to your card.

Note that these excursions are predominantly catch-and-release to protect the fish population.
Your adventure begins at L J Schooners Dockside Restaurant, where you’ll board Captain Wayne’s 26-foot NauticStar center console boat. This vessel comfortably accommodates up to four anglers, offering cushioned seating and plenty of room—perfect for children. The boat is fully equipped with amenities such as a freshwater shower for rinsing off after a swim, a full restroom, two bait tanks, and an icebox to keep your catch fresh.
To enhance your trip, Captain Wayne provides sunscreen, water, and snacks, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable day on the water for the whole family.
