Captain Ernest’s path to becoming a Galveston fishing guide started far from the coast, back in Nashville, Tennessee, when he was just four years old. His grandfather introduced him to fishing at a local catfish farm, using nothing more than a simple cane pole with a line tied to the end. By the time he was 10, Captain Ernest and his family had relocated to Houston, where he experienced his first taste of saltwater fishing. That initial outing sparked a love for the sport, and despite some ups and downs on subsequent trips, he quickly grew attached to the vibrant life found in Galveston Bay. The thrill of chasing Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder in the bay captivated him completely.

In 1999, after encountering numerous challenging fishing adventures, Captain Ernest took a major step forward by purchasing his first boat. He also enlisted the help of several well-respected fishing guides whose expertise was invaluable in teaching him the intricacies of the Bay Complex. By 2002, he had earned his captain’s license and invested in a 22-foot Century bay boat, solidifying his commitment to fishing as a profession.

Today, Captain Ernest’s enthusiasm for fishing remains as strong as ever. He is eager to share the wealth of knowledge he has gained over the years with his clients. Known for his warm personality and love of having fun, Captain Ernest is excited to take you out on the water for an unforgettable experience.
