Captain Mike has been navigating the waters of the Gulf since 1989, beginning his career as the First Mate aboard the Silver Lining. After earning his Captain’s license in 1992, he operated crew boats in Louisiana’s oil fields during the off-season. Since 2004, Captain Mike has been running his own fishing vessel. You can cancel without any charges if you do so at least 14 days prior to your trip and receive a credit added to your account. If you cancel less than 14 days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or if you fail to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your payment method.
All equipment is provided; however, we suggest bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, weather-appropriate attire, and any personal gear you'd like to have on the trip.

This trip combines action-packed trolling with bottom fishing for a diverse experience. Start by trolling the open water to chase thrilling, fast-moving species like King Mackerel, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, and Bonita, known for their explosive strikes and intense battles. After warming up on surface targets, transition to the bottom fishing phase.
Using live bait and a selection of light and heavy tackle, you’ll fish reefs and structures for seasonal Red Snapper and Amberjack, along with species such as Scamp, Almaco Jacks, Amberine, Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, and White Snapper. This trip offers plenty of opportunities to diversify your catch and maximize your haul.
This longer trip takes you farther offshore to less pressured areas, increasing your chances of landing bigger fish like Greater Amberjack, Grouper, Scamp, Bull Mingos, and Red Snapper during their open season. The additional time also allows for extended trolling sessions targeting top pelagics including Blackfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, King Mackerel, and Bonita. Captain Mike personally favors spring and fall for this excursion, when offshore waters are brimming with life and fish are especially active. Expect to fish at depths between 200 and 400 feet—and prepare for unexpected, heart-pounding bites.
For anglers ready to commit to a full day of fishing, the 12-hour trip is ideal. With plenty of time, Captain Mike will guide you to deep offshore ledges and reef systems rarely visited by typical charters. This fertile ground is home to trophy-worthy species such as Grouper, Greater Amberjack, big Red Snapper, Scamp, and powerful Bull Mingos.
You'll enjoy prolonged trolling sessions for dynamic predators like Mahi Mahi, Blackfin Tuna, Wahoo, King Mackerel, and Bonita. The full day allows the flexibility to switch tactics as conditions evolve, perfectly suited for serious anglers focused on landing a big catch.
At trip’s end, Captain Mike will proudly display your catch for a photo at the dock—an excellent way to commemorate your success. The mate will then expertly fillet your fish, sort them by species, and pack them in ice in your cooler to keep everything fresh for the trip home.
Please bring your own food, beverages (no glass containers or bananas), a cooler, and your party. All fishing gear including rods, reels, tackle, bait, and licenses are supplied onboard.
We suggest tipping the mate 20% to thank them for their hard work keeping your trip safe, smooth, and enjoyable.
