Greetings, I’m Captain Cliff. My fishing journey on the Lower Laguna Madre began back in 1974 when I was just a seventh grader. Prior to that, I honed my freshwater fishing skills in East Texas. One of my greatest mentors was Wade Dunkin from Harlingen, Texas. My initial work experience in hunting and fishing started with Harlingen National Bank Dial Dunkin and Associates, where we ventured across deep South Texas and Northern Mexico. Those seasoned pros simply welcomed me along, and I consider myself fortunate to have been part of that team.
I’m passionate about teaching others the art of fishing, especially kids and newcomers, as that’s truly where my passion took root. Besides fishing, I also enjoy cooking the catch—fishing isn’t just a hobby for me; it runs deep in my veins.

I am a licensed six-pack charter captain through the U.S. Coast Guard with decades of fishing expertise.
My focus species include Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Black Drum, Tarpon, Snook, Ladyfish, Spanish Mackerel, Kingfish, Cobia, Croaker, Whiting, Shark, and Mullet. Additionally, the Brownsville Ship Channel offers unique catches like Lookdown Fish and Filefish, which we often pursue as well. I’m flexible when it comes to pick-up locations to best suit your needs.
