Captain Harold proudly owns and operates a family-run fishing charter business in Destin, a venture that has been in the family since its inception. His father, Harold Senior, crafted his very first boat—essentially a simple box—when he was a young child, navigating the New Basin Canal in New Orleans around 1930. Inspired by his early efforts, Captain Harold Senior went on to construct approximately 30 boats throughout his life, progressively building larger vessels, including ten that exceeded 30 feet in length. Together, Captain Harold Senior and Captain Harold Jr. built the current boat, which carries the names of Captain Harold’s two children, Allen and Lindley. Captain Harold relocated from Biloxi to Destin in 1973 to pursue fishing and hasn’t looked back since. As kids, Allen and Lindley often accompanied him on trips, gradually taking on responsibilities during charters. Allen became a captain at the young age of 18. Now, the next generation is also involved, with Gavin and Madison, Captain Harold’s grandchildren, aged 7 and 10, joining “PawPaw” on excursions and assisting during trips. Captain Harold’s nephew, Jace, has also developed a strong passion for fishing after several outings.
Captain Harold credits their success to their love for what they do, saying, “We’ve been truly blessed to make a living doing what we love.” Many guests have expressed delight in their experiences aboard. They highlight the crew’s meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. The spacious boat offers comfortable seating for groups, a clean cabin, and restroom facilities. Even with challenging weather conditions such as 15+ knot winds and 6-8 foot swells, Captain Harold’s crew managed to keep guests on the fish, maximizing the fun and success of the trip.
