Captain Drew, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, has been exploring the waters of the Cape Fear Region since childhood. His passion for inshore fishing has grown over the years, and he has honed his skills to become an expert angler. With his extensive knowledge and experience, you’re guaranteed to have an enjoyable and productive day on the water. Drew is especially fantastic with children, taking great joy in teaching them the art of fishing. Outside of fishing, he is an avid duck hunter and golfer. Before dedicating himself fully to the water, Drew spent several years playing competitive baseball, including two seasons at the Division 1 level. Ultimately, his love for the water won out, leading him to trade baseball cleats for Xtratufs boots! Known for his friendly nature and great sense of humor, Drew ensures every trip is fun and memorable. He is also flexible with your preferred starting point.
Although one trip had to be rescheduled due to boat issues, Captain Drew quickly arranged a last-minute replacement, turning the outing into a fantastic experience with Captain Mason. Many clients praise Drew’s expertise; one even shared how they caught three redfish thanks to his helpful advice. Patient and knowledgeable, Drew is especially skilled at teaching newcomers, offering patient instruction on casting and lure presentation techniques. His smaller, more personal charters provide a relaxed atmosphere free from the stress of large group tours, making each outing well worth the investment.
You can cancel your booking without any fee if you do so at least 7 days prior to your scheduled trip, and you will get a credit added to your account. If you cancel within the 7-day window before the trip, the deposit paid will be retained by the guide. For cancellations made on the day of the trip or if you don't show up, the full trip cost will be charged to your card.
All necessary gear will be provided. However, we suggest you bring sunglasses, sunscreen, clothing suitable for the weather, and any personal equipment you prefer to use during the trip.

Powered by a Suzuki 115HP engine and outfitted with GPS navigation, a Motorguide Xi5 trolling motor, and a carbon fiber push pole, the boat offers precise control. It also features a spacious casting deck, poling platform, and multiple live wells to enhance your inshore fishing adventure. Whether you want to sight cast for redfish on the flats, fish deep holes for speckled trout, or bottom fish for black drum and sheepshead, Captain Drew provides all necessary gear and expertise to make it a success.
Captain Drew is committed to sustainable fishing and promotes catch-and-release, especially for trophy-sized fish, to help protect the local fish populations. However, if you prefer to take home some fresh catch for dinner, you are welcome to do so within the guidelines of North Carolina Marine Fisheries Regulations.
