About Your Guide

Captain Todd’s fishing journey started early, learning the ropes alongside his Grandfather before venturing out independently to nearby ponds and rivers by bike. Around the ages of 8 or 9, he and his younger brother would embark on long 10-plus mile rides each way to fish the river that flowed through their hometown in Washington State. His teenage years were marked by intense biking to reach prime fishing spots. Whether it was Harvest Trout (Sea Run Cutthroats), Jack Salmon, Summer and Winter Steelhead, or the yearly runs of Coho and Chinook Salmon every autumn, fishing was a constant. In the local lakes, he also pursued Trout, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, and the occasional Largemouth Bass.

After serving in the US Navy during the mid-1970s, Captain Todd returned to the Pacific Northwest, rekindling his passion for the great outdoors. He pursued higher education at a community college before completing his degree at Washington State University in Vancouver, WA. Upon graduation, he began working for one of the region’s premier fishing rod manufacturers. Over a 20-year career there, he honed his skills as a manufacturing engineer and rod and blank designer. Later, he relocated to Florida to join a fishing rod component distributor, quickly becoming captivated by sight fishing for elusive Redfish in the local estuaries such as Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River. The experience felt akin to hunting—only with a fishing rod, push pole, and polarized sunglasses.

Today, Captain Todd calls Florida home. He meticulously crafts every fishing rod on his boat, ensuring high quality and optimal setup tailored to each customer’s needs. He warmly invites anglers to join him in stalking the flats and bays along the Space Coast in pursuit of redfish. Todd is flexible with start locations to accommodate guests.

Visitors praise Todd’s expertise and hospitality: Nicole shares how Todd was incredibly informative about the fish species encountered and even cleaned their catch, making it possible to enjoy fresh fish the same day—a tradition they plan to continue on future beach visits. David Doyle recounts a memorable afternoon fishing diverse locations and species, appreciating Todd’s attention to baiting hooks and ensuring everyone had a great time. Natalie, along with her family, found Todd to be a knowledgeable and patient guide during their quick morning trip, catching plenty of fish and learning valuable fishing techniques.

Jessica and her daughter experienced a beautiful and comfortable sunset fishing excursion. Jessica fondly recalls her daughter’s excitement catching her first saltwater fish and being amazed by close encounters with dolphins. Gregg highlights Todd’s friendly and helpful nature, especially with novice anglers, and looks forward to future trips. Galan and his family enjoyed a fantastic day with Todd, catching a variety of stunning fish and making lasting memories. Others have expressed eagerness to return, praising Todd’s dedication and skill as a captain.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to fishing, Captain Todd offers a rewarding and enjoyable adventure on the water, complete with expert guidance, excellent equipment, and unforgettable experiences.
