About Your Guide

Captain Todd’s passion for fishing began in early childhood, often spending time angling alongside his Grandfather. Once he was old enough, he would bike to nearby ponds and rivers, developing his skills. Around the age of 8 or 9, he and his younger brother embarked on long biking trips of over 10 miles each way to fish in the river that passed through their hometown in Washington State. During his teenage years, Todd’s bike was put to frequent use, as he chased the abundant local fish species. Whether it was the seasonal Harvest Trout (Sea Run Cutts), Jack Salmon, Steelhead in both summer and winter, or the annual runs of Coho and Chinook Salmon every fall, the local lakes also offered Trout, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, and the occasional Large Mouth Bass.

After serving in the US Navy during the mid-1970s, Captain Todd returned to his beloved Pacific Northwest and resumed his outdoor lifestyle. He attended a nearby community college before completing his degree at Washington State University in Vancouver. Following graduation, Todd began a career with one of the Pacific Northwest’s leading fishing rod manufacturers. Over 20 years as a manufacturing engineer and rod and blank designer gave him invaluable experience. Eventually, Todd relocated to Florida to work with a local fishing rod component distributor.

In Florida, Todd quickly became captivated by sight fishing in the local estuaries such as Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River. The challenge of stalking Redfish in these clear waters, equipped with just a fishing rod, push pole, and polarized sunglasses, rekindled his excitement for fishing. Today, Captain Todd lives in this area, personally crafting every rod on his boat to ensure top quality and tailored setups for his clients. He invites anglers to join him on the Space Coast to explore the flats and bays in pursuit of Redfish, offering flexible start locations to accommodate guests.

Many clients rave about their experiences with Captain Todd: Todd’s extensive knowledge about the local fish species, his willingness to clean catches, and the joy of enjoying fresh fish right away make every trip memorable. Returning visitors have made fishing with Todd a cherished part of their annual beach trips. Even when weather isn’t ideal, his skill and commitment ensure a rewarding outing across multiple fishing methods and locations, often resulting in a diverse catch.

Families, seasoned anglers, and beginners alike appreciate Todd’s friendly nature and expertise. He goes out of his way to teach and assist, especially with younger or less experienced fishermen, creating moments filled with excitement, learning, and lasting memories. Sunset trips are especially popular, offering a comfortable and scenic fishing experience where guests may spot wildlife like dolphins while making unforgettable memories on the water.

Whether you are visiting New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, or the surrounding areas, Captain Todd is a trusted guide who delivers exceptional fishing adventures. His passion, knowledge, and dedication to customer satisfaction ensure a fantastic time on the water, no matter your skill level. Many look forward to returning for the next chance to fish alongside Todd and create new stories to share.
