About Your Guide

With more than two decades of fishing expertise in the Florida Keys, Captain Robert brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to every trip. He named his charter in tribute to his late uncle's vessel, the "Kingfisher," a seasoned fisherman and charter captain who inspired Robert to persevere no matter what. Now, Captain Robert aims to build his own enduring legacy in his uncle's honor.

Join Captain Robert for an unforgettable adventure targeting Tarpon, Bonefish, Permit, and various flats and backcountry species throughout the beautiful Florida Keys. His trips welcome anglers of all skill levels and ages, promising a fun and rewarding experience for everyone.

Clients rave about their time with Captain Robert. One guest described their first saltwater fly fishing experience in the Lower Keys as amazing, highlighting Robert’s expert advice and deep understanding of both local waters and fishing techniques. The couple landed five bonefish in just half a day, many of impressive size, and had thrilling battles on each catch. While a few permits slipped away, the excitement of the chase left a lasting impression, inspiring plans for future trips.

Another group praised Robert for an action-packed day that included hooking an 80-pound Tarpon and several other strikes, followed by catching juvenile Tarpon through patient poling—and finishing strong with fast-paced bonefish fishing. With each angler landing multiple bones, they thanked Robert for a truly memorable outing and wished him tight lines!

Explore the Lower Florida Keys beyond just fishing, where the abundant wildlife includes a diverse range of birds, turtles, stingrays, and dolphins. Each charter with Captain Robert captivates guests not only with the stunning scenery of the Lower Keys backcountry but also with outstanding fishing experiences.

This 4-hour excursion takes you around the Florida Keys' inshore waters in pursuit of the elusive Tarpon. Whether you prefer light tackle or fly fishing, these powerful fish offer an exciting challenge. Night trips are especially rewarding, as Tarpon feed actively after sunset, providing excellent chances to hook one while enjoying the beauty of the setting sun on the water.

Fishing with light tackle on the flats enhances the opportunity for sight fishing species like Permit, Bonefish, Tarpon, and Redfish. This versatile method is popular for catching a wide range of fish, including Mangrove Snapper and Jack Crevalle, which are ideal for kids. Remarkably, Bonefish can also present an excellent chance for younger anglers.

If fly fishing interests you, feel free to bring your own rod, and Captain Robert will gladly accommodate your needs. Fly fishing saltwater species adds a unique and rewarding challenge, especially when targeting Bonefish, Tarpon, and Permit. For Bonefish, Permit, Jacks, Barracudas, Sharks, and smaller Tarpon, a 9-weight fast-action fly rod paired with a durable saltwater reel is recommended. For larger Tarpon, Sharks, Barracudas, and Permit, a 10 or 12-weight fly rod and reel setup is ideal.

Captain Robert supplies all necessary fishing licenses, light tackle rods, reels, hooks, and an icebox. You only need to bring any personal food or beverages and your fly fishing gear if you plan to use it. Reserve your adventure now and prepare to battle some mighty Silver Kings!
