Your Guide: Jared C.

About Your Guide

Jared was born on October 30, 1985, in Puyallup, Washington. He grew up in Graham alongside his two older brothers, North and Sky. Raised in a family passionate about hunting and fishing, he developed a deep love for the outdoors early on. While Jared played competitive soccer in high school and college, his true calling was fishing. Each spring, he and his father eagerly took to the water on opening day, and every fall they ventured out hunting elk and mule deer. Over time, Jared not only honed his natural talent but also developed a unique ability to read the water, catch fish, and quietly track elk. His fly fishing skills became well-known among friends and family. After graduating from high school, he attended South Puget Sound Community College. In the summer of 2004, he spent time in West Yellowstone, Montana, where he sold his handmade flies and crossed paths with Bob Jacklin of Jacklin's Fly Shop. Several summers later, Jared gained valuable experience working in the guide service industry in Montana. Today, he is a skilled guide, leading trips throughout Yellowstone and Western Washington. With hundreds of hours tied to fly-tying, Jared has mastered the use of over forty different types of hair and feathers. On the river, he tailors his teaching to suit each client, showing patience and enthusiasm, especially when working with children and anglers of all skill levels. During the off-season, Jared continues to tie flies for local shops while managing his own business.
