Hi, I’m Don from North Lawrence, Ohio. After finishing high school, I enlisted in the Navy where I worked as a hydraulics mechanic on F/A-18 Hornet jets. Following my military service, I spent three decades working in a steel mill and am planning to retire in March 2025. Being passionate about the outdoors has always been a significant part of who I am. I used to film and bowhunt with a local Ohio group, but in 2005, I switched my focus to Lake Erie walleye fishing, an addiction I’m proud of. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed everything from competitive tournaments to guiding anglers, which I’ve been doing for the past eight years.
As I look ahead to retirement, I wanted to continue doing what I love—sharing the joy of fishing. There’s no better way to do that than by guiding folks on walleye trips in what’s often called the walleye capital of the world. I’ve owned a few boats, but I’ve finally settled on a 2019 Warrior 2121, an ideal size for a smaller charter vessel. It’s outfitted with the latest Lowrance electronics, powered by a 250-horsepower Suzuki outboard, plus a 9.9 kicker motor and a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor.
When you fish with me, you can expect a relaxed and enjoyable experience on the water. My main goal is for us to have fun catching fish and spending a memorable day lake-side. I’m not one to rush from dock to dock; we’ll take our time and savor the day. Each season, I move the boat to follow the walleye migration, primarily fishing between Huron and Cleveland, but I’m happy to head out from anywhere you prefer.

Your guide is accommodative with start locations to fit your needs. Don was an excellent captain for our trip, with a spotless and well-cared-for boat. He was fantastic at teaching our group, many of whom were new to walleye fishing, the best techniques to catch fish.
You can cancel without any fees up to three days prior to your scheduled trip and receive a credit issued to your account. If you cancel within three days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip cost being charged to your payment method.
All fishing equipment is provided for your convenience. However, if you prefer to bring your own favorite rod or lure, feel free to do so. Fish cleaning services are available at a rate of $2.50 per fish. We also supply Ziploc bags so you can easily take your catch home.

If you need assistance with cleaning your catch, just let me know, and we can arrange to have it taken care of for you. All you need to bring is a cooler and a valid fishing license to get started. Make sure to pack sunglasses and sunscreen to stay comfortable throughout the day.
For those concerned about seasickness, taking Dramamine the night before and again the morning of the trip is often very effective. Most of our fishing takes place close to shore, and if the weather turns unfavorable, we’ll gladly reschedule to ensure your safety and enjoyment. I prioritize a fun and relaxing experience on the water and won’t take chances with bad conditions.
