Hi, I’m Don, living in North Lawrence, Ohio. After graduating high school, I enlisted in the Navy, where I served as a hydraulics mechanic working on F/A-18 Hornet aircraft. Following my military service, I spent three decades working in a steel mill and plan to retire in March 2025.
Being outdoors has always been a central passion of mine. I previously spent several years filming and bow hunting with a local Ohio group. In 2005, I swapped my bow for a rod, drawn in by the excitement of Lake Erie walleye fishing. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of tournament fishing and have spent the last eight years guiding others on the water.
As retirement approaches, I wanted to stay active doing something I love—taking people out to fish for walleye in what many call the walleye capital of the world. Over the years, I’ve owned a few different boats but ultimately chose a 2019 Warrior 2121, which I believe is perfect as a smaller charter vessel. It’s fully equipped with the latest Lowrance electronics, powered by a 250 Suzuki engine, complemented by a 9.9 hp kicker motor and a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor.
When you join me for a charter, expect a fun, relaxed day on the water focused on catching fish and enjoying the experience. I’m not one to rush—whether it’s from dock to limit or back—so we’ll take our time and savor each moment. Throughout the year, I move the boat between ports to follow the walleye migration, mainly fishing from Huron to Cleveland. I’m happy to start from wherever is most convenient for you.

Our guide can accommodate flexible starting locations. Don was an excellent captain on our trip; his boat was spotless and well maintained. He was fantastic at teaching our group, who were new to walleye fishing, the best techniques to catch fish.
You can cancel your booking at no cost if done at least 14 days prior to your scheduled trip, and the amount will be credited back to your account. If you cancel within 14 days of the trip, your deposit will be non-refundable and retained by the guide. On the day of the trip, cancellations or failures to show up will result in a charge of the full trip amount to your payment method.
All fishing equipment is provided for your convenience. However, if you prefer to use your own favorite fishing pole or lure, feel free to bring them along. Fish cleaning services are available for $2.50 per fish. Additionally, Ziploc bags will be supplied so you can easily take your catch home.

This trip is ideal for the whole family—kids, mom, and dad alike—promising a day full of reeling in your daily limits. Be sure to bring along food and drinks to enjoy during breaks between battling the walleyes.

Don't forget to pack sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. If you’re prone to seasickness, taking Dramamine the night before and again the morning of the trip usually helps prevent discomfort.
Most days, we fish close to shore, and if the weather isn’t favorable, I’m glad to reschedule to ensure your day on the water is both safe and enjoyable. Your comfort and experience are my top priorities.
