Hi, I’m Don from North Lawrence, Ohio. After finishing high school, I joined the Navy, where I worked as a hydraulics mechanic on F/A-18 Hornet jets. Following my service, I spent three decades working in a steel mill and plan to retire in March 2025. Being outdoors has always been a major passion of mine, and I’ve enjoyed years of filming and bow hunting here in Ohio. In 2005, I traded in my bow to pursue a new fascination with Lake Erie walleye fishing.
My journey with walleye started with tournament fishing and evolved into guiding over the past eight years. As retirement approaches, I wanted to keep doing something I love, and what could be better than taking people out to fish for walleye in the walleye capital of the world? Over time, I’ve owned several boats, but I finally settled on a 2019 Warrior 2121. This smaller charter boat is outfitted with the latest Lowrance electronics, a 250-horsepower Suzuki outboard engine, a 9.9 kicker, and a Minn Kota Terrova for precise control.
When you join me for a charter, you can expect a relaxed, enjoyable day focused on catching fish and soaking up the quality time on the water. I’m not into rushing from the dock to the limit and back; instead, we take our time and savor every moment. Throughout the year, I follow the walleye migration, fishing primarily from Huron to Cleveland, but I’m happy to start from any port you prefer.

Flexible start locations are available to suit your needs. Don was an excellent captain who made our trip memorable. His boat was spotless and well cared for. He patiently explained the best fishing techniques to our group, who were new to walleye fishing, making it an enjoyable experience for everyone.
You can cancel at no cost up to 72 hours prior to your scheduled trip and have the amount credited to your account. If you cancel within 72 hours of the trip, your deposit will be non-refundable and retained by the guide. Cancellations on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in the full trip price being charged to your payment method.
We provide all the necessary fishing equipment for your convenience. However, if you prefer to use your own favorite fishing pole or lure, feel free to bring them along. Fish cleaning services are available for $2.50 per fish. Additionally, we will supply Ziploc bags so you can easily take your catch home.
If you're looking for an exciting fishing adventure to fill your freezer, trolling for Lake Erie walleye is the perfect choice. This trip is ideal for the whole family—even the kids, mom, and dad can enjoy a fantastic day reeling in their catch. Be sure to bring food and drinks to stay energized between hooking those walleyes.
I offer fish cleaning services—just let me know in advance, and we’ll arrange to have your catch cleaned for you. All you need to bring is a cooler and a valid fishing license, and you’re all set for the day.
Don’t forget to pack sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. If you’re prone to seasickness, taking Dramamine the night before and the morning of the trip typically helps prevent discomfort.
Most days, we fish close to shore, making it a convenient and enjoyable experience. If weather conditions aren’t favorable, we’ll reschedule to ensure your safety and a great time on the water. My priority is to make sure your fishing trip is both fun and safe.
