Residing at the westernmost tip of the Keys, it was only natural for him to pursue his passion for fishing. Throughout his career, he has landed impressive catches, including a 14-foot Hammerhead Shark weighing approximately 700 pounds, as well as Goliath Groupers nearing 500 pounds. Captain John began his professional captaincy in 2008 and has been leading fishing charters ever since.

You can cancel your booking without penalty up to 14 days prior to your scheduled trip and receive a credit refund to your account. If you cancel less than 14 days before the trip, your deposit will be retained by the guide. Cancellations made on the day of the trip or failure to show up will result in a full charge of the trip cost to your payment method.

Captain John’s vessel is a 33-foot center console powered by twin 300 HP engines. Fully equipped with GPS, fishfinder, flybridge, live bait well, outriggers, and tuna tubes, it ensures a comfortable and efficient fishing experience. Complimentary spearfishing and snorkeling gear are available if you want to explore beneath the surface. Trips accommodate up to 6 anglers and range from 4 to 8 hours—longer trips allow you to fish farther offshore, where bigger catches await.
Be sure to bring your own food and beverages (glass containers are discouraged), along with a hat and sunscreen for sun protection. Captain John supplies everything else you need, including all necessary licenses, rods, reels, lures, and tackle. Live bait will be prepared prior to departure, although you’re welcome to catch your own during the outing. On 6- and 8-hour trips, a first mate will assist throughout the journey, including cleaning and filleting your catch at the end.
